I'd like to get my mum something nice for christmas, im just all out of ideas. Maybe people could share what they've got there mums, might give me some ideas.
Also stuck on what to get dps mum and dps grandma.
His mum lives in australia so what ever we get her will have to fit in her suitcase.
His grandma usually gets bath soaps and stuff, i'd quite like to get her something abit different this year. It must get anoying always getting soap year in year out.
Any ideas would be great.
TIA

i have bought my grandma darling buds of may on dvd, she was saying she would like it a while ago and its currently less than half price on play.com.

mil is getting a digibox or a top, depends on whether or not dh gets round to buying the digibox!

my mum so far has a hot polar bear from iwantoneofthose.com, will get her mascara (as always) and some perfume and she has asked for a food temperature probe (very exciting)

will be watching for a few more exciting ideas!

My mum usually gets photos of the kids. Often its the school photo but last year I had a couple from holiday blown up and framed. They look fab on her wall and she loves them. Will fit in a suitcase and is great for someone you don't see that often. MIL got a little cube with space for photos on each side. For a bit more effect you could do a family calander, loads of companies do them or you could make your own. Or we did one using the kids art work one year.

I was quite tempted to get my mum and ipod this year as DH showed her his with all our photos on it. Really tickled me to see this old lady wizzing through on such a modern gadget as she's a complete technophobe. Was thinking of looking for one with a similar screen to the ipod but perhaps a bit cheaper. I'm sure Tchibo had them for about £50.

My mum likes a magazine subscription to Good Housekeeping.

lornaloo · 15/11/2006 14:26

Katherine thats such a good idea. Im going to cut up loads of photos and make a collage and frame it. Also like the faicial idea. Do you know any good websites for beauty things and frames?

I'm getting my mum a card-making kit as part of her present. She likes making things but finds craft stuff expensive to buy on a pension, plus she'll save money by not having to buy birthday cards! Both my mum and MIL like plants so some years I get them amaryllis bulbs. A magazine sub has gone down well with my mum, too.

lornaloo · 15/11/2006 14:56

Where can I find a nice bathrobe?
What are amaryllis bulbs? Sorry dont know alot about plants , but my mum loves gardening and has lots of plants around the house.
