PandaG · 13/11/2006 13:43

I have one, Angel's embrace, it is angel holding toddler. Mindee's parents gave it to me last year I was very touched. don't think I would buy one for myself though. My mum would love the Grandmother one, but she does not need any more ornaments!

Tortington · 13/11/2006 13:46

they really are tat. LTH grab yourself and shake violently - i have a kays catalogue - becuase well i am common and broke most of the time - and they are in there

next year they will be in argos - i guarentee.

dreamcatcher · 13/11/2006 19:58

I got the angel's embrace 2 years ago from a friend and I love it. Hadn't seen the others till 2 weeks ago. Our local bickerdikes garden centre has them. I really like the family of four.

It was £19 yorkie, so not mega ££££ but not cheap 99p shop quality either.

Don't like ornaments. Very irritating. However, I can sort of see how a hormonal emotional woman might form an attachment to these.

Try not to cry when you speak to dh. You might worry him.

Bucketsofburntdinosaurs · 13/11/2006 21:57

Could you not make a mini one out of Fimo? I find them sinister with no faces. And a pg lady should not be looking for more things to dust

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2006 10:08

who said it would ever be dusted???

I've got the one with the mummy holding a baby with her arm round a toddler. Its me and my 2 children! I love it. Its very special to me.

expatinscotland · 14/11/2006 10:14

I'm going to have to be honest here, LTH. PLEASE try not to be offended.

But if I got one of those things, I would put it on Freecycle immediately.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2006 10:29

But expat...thats because we all knwo you are evil and wicked and heartless and cruel and ...and....and...and....you have sex on buses...so of course YOU would.

(BTW, I don't think I've ever been offended by anyone on MN so you'll have to try harder than that!!)

I never had sex on the bus!

I saw someone at a bus stop in Prince's Street, queued up for the no. 25 and looking like he needed licked.

Then I saw him on the bus. Then, after we got off, I made up a pretext to speak to him so he'd pick me up for a casual encounter.

There was NO sex or lewd acts on the bus.

But those statuettes are still ugly.

Sorry

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2006 14:30

yeah yeah yeah......but I bet you thought about it though...dint'cha??

If I ever win the lottery I buy the full range of them, including the trinkets boxes and xmas decorations and send to you. I just know you love them really.
Give in to them, Expat...come on...open your heart (your cold hard heart) and love them.

(God, I'm LOL at my own posts. I'm sure I'll see sense once the baby is born and the one Dh buys will slowly gather so much dust that it will be un-recognisable)

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 14/11/2006 14:31

Well, they'd make good kindling.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2006 14:32

They aren't even made of wood, so I'm not sure thats a good idea.

I did chuckle to myslef at the writing on the box saying "hand crafted" or something and then seeing a Made in china sticker on the bottom.

Custardo is right. They're in Kay's, fgs!

LadyTophamHatt · 14/11/2006 14:35

Aha....see, you're looking them up to buy one aren't you??

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 14/11/2006 14:36

No, I wanted to see if Kay's was really common like custy said it was.

She was right.
