Mine is a santa one, looks like santa has lots of pockets with numbers on, on the front of his suit.

GQM - i'm going to be making some for my shop/private sale - happy to take a commision

GoingQuietlyMad · 13/11/2006 11:52

Oooh. What sort of price, and what will they look like?

busybusymum · 13/11/2006 11:57

I have one and I get a pack of chewits and a sting of choc snowmen from chocoholics and put just one of these in each pocket, others years I put in letter and at the end they made up a phrase or words in each one and made a sentence. Sounds a bit OTT but the kids loved that, way more than just another bit of choc!

I also just to have a little tree with advent boxes underneath and each one contained a tree decoration. Kids love that one too but we seem to have lost it in a house move!

well, i'm making a fairly intricate one for my dd with a winter scene, little houses, smoke fromchimneys, tress laden with snow, stars etcetc. will basically be a an appliqued witer scene with numbered pockets around the edge for little presetnts etc. but for a my pals ds i'm doing a much simpler one withthe numbered pockets and little penguins skating around. the detailed ones are a lot of work, but the others ones are somewhat less so - and i'll be selling them for £25 (plus p+p). oh, and i'll be adding embroidered names etc. anyway - should be done in a couple of days, so i can send you a pic. there are lots to buy on line, by the way - some a bit cheaper. mine are expensive because they are all one offs etc

Gosh you have sold me. They sound wonderful. I love homemade things - would make my own if I had time.

Could you post a photo? Initially I was thinking of a wooden one with boxes in, but I love the sound of yours.

spooky thread .. cos I've just listed a wooden advent calendar on the for sale board.

Its really gorgeous painted wooden snowman with red felt pouches and brass hooks but since I bought it I've never got round to taking it out of the box and we've never really done advent calendars

am impressed by those of you who do
