don;t know about anyone else but I'm really uninspired - so thought we could help each other. don't just put down stuff you're going to get - put down stuff you've already got that's proved its worth and been a real hit.

I am so uninspired that my contribution consists of starting this off.

oh good, I'm glad you've started this (not that I want to think about Xmas yet....ggrr)

yours are the same age as mine aren't they (but can't remember which way round)?

hatwoman · 10/11/2006 09:28

DSD is 7 and in to Bratz (i hate them), also crafty things, ive bought her a paint your own money box and a Bratz styling head.

foxinsocks · 10/11/2006 18:50

are yours both girls hat? my dd is 6, ds is now 5 (today!).

foxinsocks · 10/11/2006 18:54

dd wants quite a few books - a few in the Dimanche Diller series (we only have one), another Horrible Histories (she wants the WW II one) and a few naff, sparkly, princess or fairy ones.

Big present wise I'm not sure - I imagine she would quite like some Barbie horror doll or pony (I see they are reduced on Argos at the moment). She (and her brother) really want a globe this year aswell so that's a good joint present.

yep - both of mine girls. I bought Operation today - always wanted one myself when I was little! noticed the unbelievable rip-off that branding is - ordinary Operation was 7.95 (give or take a quid) compared with a Simpsons Operation - which was 11.95 - exactly the same game but just Homer rather than some guy! And I bought them one of those corrugated tubes each taht make a great noise when you whizz them round - they were just £1.50 (and I'm sure they're half the length they used to be when I was a kid ); and I got them a book each - quite geeky but I do think they'll like them - one was Johnny ball think of a number - didn;t look too closely, come to think of it, hope it's not too grown up, and one was an animals encylopaedia. So all in all I reckon I did wuite well. We're probably going to get a couple of cats - hopefully try to engineer it so that we can get them a few days after Christmas, will get collars and stuff for them to open Christmas day - so probably won;t get much more, cos by the time rely's presents are added to the pile it'll look hoooge.

those tubes that you whirl around (were you in Learning by Play or whatever it's called perchance!) were a great hit here (apart from the times when they are used to whack each other over the head).

In fact, I must go into that shop. There's always quite a bit in there that I fancy.

it's called Fun Learning - but I suspect you have the same one in mind - top floor of the Bentall Centre - I was so impressed by the staff I posted about them to sing their praises - all very young but so far removed from your usual sullen 20 year old - totally helpful and actually knew about all their products - I got a couple of card games too whihc I hope will go down ok - one looks like it might actually be fun for adults after a glass of wine or two

yes that's the one I meant.

They are super helpful in there - if you go in with the children (esp when not busy), they give them a sticker and help them play on the computer (the educational games) whilst helping you pick the games/toys you want! Fab!

Dd pines after their cystal and fossil collection.

I have bought my dd some sparkly moisturiser from body shop as she loved the sparkly puff I got last year from virgin vie.
