My dd has a lovely jigsaw that I'm sure a little boy we know would love (I would normally buy said boy a small token gift).
Would it be wrong/stingy/tight to wrap up said jigsaw for his Christamas present (it's in very good condition but the corners of the box are slightly scuffed iykwim)
Anyway if it's deemed OK to give the Jigsaw should I tell the mum in advance in a kind of "Look, it's just a token, it was dd's butI thought X would love it) or would that make it seem like I was too tight to buy a gift?
I really like the mum and said child so would absolutely hate to offend.
I have already bought the child a present so the options are
a) give bought present to child and forget about jigsaw
b) give jigsaw with explanation
c) give jigsaw without mentioning it was dd's
d) give the jigsaw and the bought present and not say anything (this would seem an excessive gift for the relationship we have)
e) take the jigsaw round next time I see them and still give bought present for Christmas
I should add the gift I have already bought could be given to another child I buy for and I'm not sure the little boy will like the present I've bought for him as much as the jigsaw that dd has, ifywim?.
What goes, you decide....
