Every year we get a thread on this, so i thought I would suggest here ; Oxfam unwrapped are doing 2 text books for a fiver, or 100 school meals for £6. We've got one for each teacher, and just adding a bar of green and blacks to that.

Just seemed appropriate and a reasonable price.

Aw thanks EPIS, was begining to feel a bit radical....

And no sign of a veil anywhere.

Although we don't expect presents I must say a bottle of wine has always been received very well here. Without wanting to sound ungrateful I prefer not to get chocolates as I usually give them to DH or the kids to eat....

My sister would love an ornament like that, LGJ!

So would my dad and uncle, who are big into the Knights of Columbus.

When my ds's were at primary school, my friend was the LA and head lunch time assistant for years and her advice, which I now do every year is to take in a large bottle of wine or two and a tin of biscuits for all of the teachers etc to share round on the last day in the staff room.
