Dd will be 8 soon and I need some ideas for presents. She loved all her Xmas pressies - she got

Snow glow elsa
Djeco pens
Bright eyes blanket
Clothes for her Gotz Hannah

Can't remember what else!

She loves arts and crafts and was thinking of a Sprayza blow pens set or Science Museum make your own crystals.

Any ideas?

Yes, your tone and attitude make sit clear that you do t care about being part of a culture which my dd is stuck growing up in.

If only we all lived in the little self serving bubble you live in.

Consumerism is a political act, but you probably spent too much time playing with barbies to understand that.

anothernumberone · 12/02/2015 13:02

OP did you mean to be so rude to Jackie?

Dancergirl · 12/02/2015 13:16

No I didn't and I apologise if I was rude. But I am not interested in this issue, sorry.

Yes sod the dolls and craft sets - there's nothing better than a nice petrol guzzling car, a gun and some war toys for instilling good values into your child.

TheYellowCat · 12/02/2015 13:21

And I think jackie is the rude one on this thread...

slippermaiden · 12/02/2015 13:23

A knitting set. I knit a lot and my daughter would love to learn. She got a starter kit from a family friend and wanted to start using it straight away! ??

Rosa · 12/02/2015 13:38

Only blue Kinder eggs for Jackie then ....

I was going to suggest the sewing / knitting craft kits but not the Galt ones.
The Top Model series of colouring books with cut out materials went down well with DD1.
If you go down the crystal route what about a microscope with some prepared slides?

vikjul · 13/02/2015 09:37

Hmmm, doctor's kit, train sets and car garage seem very odd ideas for an 8yo regardless of gender. Perhaps more about making a statement than actual suggestions...?

Also, since when are crystal growing kits and quality pens "girlie"? And why does Jackie assume that OP's dd wasn't into trains or Lego Star Wars or whatever when she was 4, 5, 6 or 7?

I have a dd who wanted Lego Star Wars at 4, Ninja Turtles at 5, and now at 6 craves nail polish and glitter, books on Egypt and a Nerf gun. I have been happy to indulge all of this (although not the Nerf gun yet). And, like his sister, my ds9 enjoys fancy pens, crystal mining and the Sleeping Queens card game. And neither of them happen to be drawn to Meccano or work benches.

Just saying...

op, we have princess djeco stamps, its lasted a long time nad she has used it to make cards for people, its something she comes back to again and again. We got glitter this xmas and its so beautiful, she spent many an hour doing it but once its done you can put up the lovely cards.

this has been biggest hit www.amazon.com/Hopper-Included-Inflatable-Jumping-Bouncy/dp/B006PZ0QW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424004779&sr=8-1&keywords=happy+hoppers

~ Opinel knife (Don't ask- My father in law thought she'd love it and guess what.....)
~ A real life stethoscope!!!
~ A Simba toy and a Nala toy from the Disney Store
~ A personalised Embossing rolling pin (all pastry now says "Made by Lotte")
~ A print for her bedroom
~ An Elsa and Anna Gymnastic Leotards from Etsy

ColdJerseySpud · 19/02/2015 19:26

Jackie did you mean to be so rude?

The OP's daughter is nearly 8 years old not 8 months old. I don't know if you have ever been around an 8 year old girl but they really do know their own minds and what they like.

Believe me....

ColdJerseySpud · 19/02/2015 19:27

Why is it so hard to believe that some girls actually LIKE to be pink, girly and ultra feminine?

Just the same as some boys LIKE blue and traditional boys stuff.

slippermaiden · 20/02/2015 20:51

Thanks for the sleeping queens idea up thread. My daughter had an Amazon voucher left over and we bought this game and it's a great hit! Smile

TheRealMaryMillington · 20/02/2015 20:57
