I haven't seen anything nice in the shops!

Any of these any good?

Tatties · 20/10/2006 21:56

Thanks Gillian, they are nice, maybe a wee bit pricey. But then I don't really know what the going rate for Christmas stockings is!

buying one of these for each of my DC@s would cost £60!

xena · 20/10/2006 22:35

I got a lovely wool stocking from Habitat a couple of years ago; might be worth a look there?

hana · 20/10/2006 23:19

do you have a sewing machine?
not hard to make your own ( honest!)
otherwise you could consider it an investment if you are using it every year
mum still fills mine when I am home at christmas and it's got to be at least 30 years old!

Radley · 21/10/2006 08:33

We aren't buying masses of presents this year, just lots of little ones, and, instead of buying a stocking, we are going to get some plain cotton pillowcases and fabric paints and let them both jazz up their own pillowcases.

welshmum · 21/10/2006 08:39

You don't even need a sewing machine.
Some felt
Some fake fur
Sparkling beads
Silver thread

And you can put their names on and keep it forever and ever
And sewing of an evening stops you eating chocolate
If mine weren't in the attic I'd post a picture

I just went to a department store and bought knee length, mens socks. Cheap & traditional - but do pick ones that are stretchy enough to get an A4 book inside the top!

Tatties · 21/10/2006 11:08

I wish I had a sewing machine!
Funnypeculiar, I LOVE those ones

yellowmoon catalogue has a nice big one whih children can decorate with fabric pens, glitter pens etc.
(I am crap at sewing but I managed to make 2 nice ones out of felt just using blanket stitch and embroidering names on. And I cannot stress how bad I am at sewing!!)

foulmoonfiend · 21/10/2006 11:14

Oh FP - those are sooo cute! WANt, want , want!

MissyBabee · 21/10/2006 11:15
