But only because that 95% are in Scotland and it will save me a fortune in postal charges as we are going next week for half term .

NastyNemo666 · 19/10/2006 13:02

blimey that is organised!!!! Although apart from stocking fillers and the elc kitchen I have all the dcs presents!! Just need to organise dh.

FIMBOnABroomstick · 19/10/2006 13:03

It's only because last year it cost me £60 to post everything and with the new charges, I hate to think what it would cost this year.

cupsnakes · 19/10/2006 13:04

I wrapped up most of ds and dd's last week.

DumbledoresGirl · 19/10/2006 13:05

Not even thought about Christmas yet? Is it coming soon? Oh dear.

FIMBOnABroomstick · 19/10/2006 13:06

Right I can pass the smug crown to you now, Cupsnakes LOL

IdrisTheDragon · 19/10/2006 13:08

I have wrapped precisely 0% of my Christmas presents.

This could well be connected with the fact that I have bought 0% of my Christmas presents as well.

Can't think about Christmas until November, so I can be in denial for a little while longer .

MrsFish · 19/10/2006 14:08

I have bought about 30-40% of pressies, did actually have the thought of wrapping them earlier, but thought it was a bit soon

LittleScarer · 19/10/2006 15:00

Lol.

Well I have bought 90% of mine (because I am a student and will be broke by Dec) but I am going to wait to wrap them til December because it makes me fee nice and Christmassy!

Well done Fimbo though!

munz · 19/10/2006 15:01

[envy} i've got to start shopping yet!

princessmel · 19/10/2006 15:02

I would love to be able to buy some Christmas pressies already but we are too poor for me to buy anything .

Well done you though!!!

PeachyBobbingParty · 19/10/2006 16:04

littlescarer- snap, I buy early, before the grant runs out LOL!

princessmel- don't want to pry but are you OK? Are you going to be OPK by Christmas, and if not can we help?

princessmel · 19/10/2006 18:02

PeachyBobbingParty, thats so sweet of you to be interested.
( sorry to hijack thread)We are really screwed money wise at the mo. We got ripped off by a door salesman - v long boring story, and are taking it to the small claims court. The extra monthly payments have put a strain on our already strained money situation.

Just never have any money for anything.( reason why I don't want to pay loads for a toy on ebay on another thread!...) Couldn't go to supermarket last week! I really only ever get clothes with vouchers I get for birthday/xmas pressies and save them. I did get lots of clothes for ds in Adams last week with the reward points from sainsburys so that was good.
Sorry to go on but its good to talk about it sometimes rather than just worry about it.

Don't really know what will happen at xmas, we'll think of something. Dh is working this wkend and is doing as much overtime, private jobs as poss. He's an elec.

Ok back to who's wrapped pressies.... I love doing that. I put my xmas cd on to make it extra xmassy!

Neena28 · 19/10/2006 18:13

Princess Mel how old is your ds? Am sure mn's would help you out with some nice toys etc for him. If he's only little then they don'e care if things are expensive/new or not.

(for your ears only....we are reasonably comfortable now and I'm getting dd(15 months) an aquadraw mat and ds (nearly 6) some more playdough. I think kids nowadays are really spoilt and half of ds's friends don't appreciate what they've got at all. They will also get stuff some family and friends as I'm sure your ds will too so they aren't going to be deprived just not spoilt)

Sorry for the hijack fimbo!!

princessmel · 19/10/2006 18:24

He's going to be 4 in Jan Neena. I know we don't have to buy loads and we don't. He gets lots from family and friends. He's a very lucky boy. I agree with you some kids get way too much at xmas. Our son is just so excited about the whole xmas thing, the stocking, tree etc.
I feel bad about this because we are SO NOT as poor/badly off as some people. I know lots of people are in worse situations than us. We have a house of our own, lovely children, loads of family and friends near by.
Its just depressing and worrying when you always have to think about money and when you can afford to pay the bills, buy food/petrol, pay for toddler group etc.

PeachyBobbingParty · 19/10/2006 19:37

princessmel - we were in yur position not long ago, I am happy to send your little one a present for Christmas if that would spare up some cash for the bills etc, I'm sure MN would help in general- it's one of our strong points.
A lot of us have been there and come out the other side again.

princessmel · 19/10/2006 19:41

Peachy, you've made me cry, in a good way!!
I know we wont be like this forever, well I hope not. Dh is trying to change the mortgage to extend it to a longer term. That should help a bit.

PeachyBobbingParty · 19/10/2006 19:45

my e-mail is peachesandcream04 at btinternet dot com

please feel free to e-mail me if you need a gift or two, and please do not feel bad about it. you can always pass the favour on to someone else when they need it

Tutter · 19/10/2006 19:46

lol at 95%

so you have at least 100 presents then

princessmel · 19/10/2006 19:47

I don't really know what to say. Thanks

SecondhandRose · 19/10/2006 19:49

You get some brilliant things from boot sales, church bazaars and school Christmas fairs for next to nothing. I have bought loads of new stocking fillers for my kids from the boot sale including bath bombs, pads and pens, slipper socks and even found a new Dr Who book for my son.
