What are you getting?
I need wrapping paper and cards. I also fancy getting DH a Christmas jumper, and DS jumper/ t shirt/ socks/ PJs and maybe stocking fillers.
I buy for 10 people at work, just a token. This year they got Portmeirion holly and ivy mugs so fancy something to go with that - they go in the loft and it makes December easy :)
What are you getting?

It's an annual tradition of mine to go to Boots after Xmas and get half price wrapping paper and gift tags :)

I won't get presents for next Xmas though. I always keep an eye out for offers on certain things (like lego, which DCs are utterly obsessed with) but if I grab any bargains they will be put aside for their summer birthdays :)

Oh and I might get some little Xmas cards actually, we were really disorganised this year and didn't get any for DD to write to her classmates (thought she wouldn't be bothered but she was) until the last minute, so I might put some aside now.

By definition the sales are just the things left over that no one else wanted so no I don't bother (bah humbug) Grin

Don't forget the boots 70% off sale. It's usually about the 15th or 16th of a January. Just for one day . I got some of the big cases of soap and glory last year and lots of gift packs of bath stuff.

WeAllHaveWings · 29/12/2014 11:06

If I saw a gift for ds (birthday Feb) I would pick it up. I wouldn't buy anything else for next year as I wouldn't know what he will be into until nearer the time.

I would never buy any lotions or creams now for Xmas next year as they would be well over a year/18 months old by the time they were gifted and I would worry it could leave the recipient with an old lotion that is starting to separate or smell different (I have had this before myself with Dove products which I have binned).

Wrapping paper, cards, Xmas jumpers, winter coats, winter pj's etc are all good idea's.

Definitely no toiletries for next Christmas here either, I rarely give them anyway and not gift sets, just individual items. Nice to pick up some bargain treats for yourself though.

Dd6.5 loves dd8 roller skates, they are currently half price £28 so I may have gotten two bigger pairs for a birthday later in the year - and I've hedged my bets. This is the thing with 4 dds, someone is going to want them, however, I can't usually have just one if something either.

I usually buy coats and boots for the following winter, they need to go to half price :-)

imip · 30/12/2014 07:13

Oh, I need small box set of Christmas cards. I did buy them in last years sales, which meant dds had them in good time this yr.

anniepanniepears · 30/12/2014 07:49

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 01/01/2015 16:08

i got some djeco art sets for bdays and or xmas next year, and also the party bag fillers for bday from dot com gift shop.

This Xmas we gave a toy (playmobil pyramid) that had been sitting in our cupboard for 18 months! I saw it at a great price when somebody (on MN actually :o) had mentioned it was being retired so I snapped it up. Had planned to give it Xmas 2013 but then there was other playmobil DD fell in love with so we put it aside. We have a built in wardrobe with a long high shelf so it's easy to store things without forgetting about them. Finally set it up for this Xmas and they absolutely adore it :)

Anyway... I know I said earlier I wouldn't buy any presents this early, but then somehow... I did Blush there was a gorgeous Xmas lego set that I saw last month, and I figured it may be reduced in the sales - and it was, to a brilliant price.

They are absolutely guaranteed to love it (unlike monster high for example which they may hopefully have gone off by then) so it will make a great Santa present.

Have got some Lego pieces for my 3 as Lego never goes out of fashion and ds 10 will love any Lego he gets also some puzzles and games.
