Let's pool our ideas:

Viz subscribtion

Funny book Hound Dog by Richard Blandford Very rude, very funny and has Elvis impersonators - what more could you ask? Actually quite touching too in a Clockwork Orange way.

DH is getting a Scotland rugby top and a contract mobile phone from me and the girls.

My folks are getting him more Tommy Hilfiger tops - they're cheap as chips in the US at outlet malls - and some stuff from the outdoor shop REI.

I can't wait, cuz I'm getting my little keychain knife from there, too! And a telescope! And binoculars.

hub2dee · 12/11/2006 20:52

REI rocks, doesn't it expat.

Are you big into astronomy ? Or do you live opposite a fit bloke ?

themoon66 · 12/11/2006 20:53

We've agreed to not buy each other pressies this year as we have just moved to a new house. We are going to jointly buy ourselves a wood burning stove in the January sales instead.

helenhismadwife · 12/11/2006 21:16

Hi

the moon

snap have you looked on ebay there are some nice antique french ones they tend to go quite cheap in November/December nobody has the money to spend on stuff like that

Helen

expatinscotland · 12/11/2006 21:21

I do like astronomy, hub. My dad and I used to spend many an evening looking at the stars.

But I don't need a telescope to admire one fit bloke - my DH is HOT.

themoon66 · 12/11/2006 21:25

helenhismadwife - We thought everyone would be fancying stoves for Xmas, hence our idea of waiting till January sales.

Do you know if they are easy to fit? I mean, if I buy one on ebay, would I be able to fit it myself? My neighbour got one last week and has had terrible trouble with smoking leaking into the room etc.

PeachyClair · 12/11/2006 21:27

We're just buying each other two gifts: a bottle each of our fave booze (so JD for DH) and erm, something naughty (as yet undecided)

He also is mooning after the LED watch from IWANTONEOFTHOE catalogue but he isn't having coz I know he's not spending nearly that much on me hee hee hee

he also likes the look of the racing grannies in that catalogue

for camping blokes, camping gas party grill is fab for men to pose around with (especially the big size one LOL)

helenhismadwife · 12/11/2006 21:29

we bought one here in an antique shop but because woodburners are really popular here the diy stores sell the stuff to fit them with

If you can the get pipe stuff they are easy they throw out a lot of heat as well, I love the Godin ones but they still tend to be pricey even 2nd hand and especially antique ones

PeachyClair · 12/11/2006 21:33

here

for the outdoorsy men

themoon66 · 12/11/2006 21:55

PeachyClair - Ooh that LED watch would certainly appeal to my DH for sure!
