Dbunny will have a new ball which dispenses treats and a wicker ball to chew.

attheendoftheday · 23/12/2014 01:17

Thanks to dd1's absolute conviction that fc brings gifts for animals we are now the proud owner of 8 tiny stockings. The rabbits and rats will get various bits of veg, the ducks are getting meal worms in a sweetie cone. Ddog is a bit more spoilt and is getting a range of treats in her stocking, a large bone and new dog bed will under be the tree from dp and I, and a monkey toy and some dog sausages from the dds.

MummyPig24 · 23/12/2014 05:04

I bought the cat some dreamies, the guinea pigs won't est any treats so their gift will be sprout leaves and carrot peelings!

Derek I love the bridge for the snail. Xmas Grin

Big Cat and the ginger mad kitten have far too much this year; their annual Whiskas stockings from lovely SIL. An automated laser pointer (Amazon Lightning Deals total bargain), a felt stocking each from us with treats, Dreamies, toys, catnip, naice food - Sheba.
Then the dc bought them a load of 'stuff' from the local cat rescue Christmas fair.

DH informed me yesterday that there is also an scratching tree thing on its way, to try to deter them from scratching the new sofa. He's soft on them. Big Cat will ignore everything except for the food, he might lazily plonk himself down to watch MadGinger run around after the laser.
MadGinger will probably love it all, the enthusiasm of youth.

Spoilt bastards! Xmas Wink

My dog is getting Turkey Jumbones, new tennis balls and some Naice Dog Meat for his Kong. I work in a pet shop so he gets pretty spoilt all the time Blush. He'll be allowed to destroy the wrapping paper too.

The cat is getting a Christmas stocking because we always order shitloads and they never sell (I have no idea why we still do it) so he's getting that AND a new cat-brother on Saturday. We lost our Siamese in August and he's so lonely without her, no one told him cats are solitary animals. Some friends run a cattery and they get a lot of cats in from Social Services, stbCherryCat2 has been there since April and SS have finally signed him over to the cattery so we're having him. SO excited. So Cherrycat1 is getting a new brother and stbCherryCat2 is getting a home. Romantically I'd love him home for Christmas day but we're going to my parents 150miles away Christmas day and back Boxing day so it's a bit too much upheaval really for him to do a new house, then a 2.5 hour car journey x 2 to somewhere else he doesn't know, with another cat (and dog...and baby) and then expect him to settle in. So he gets Christmas day two days late.

The horse is getting carrots and a day chilling out in the field rather than be expected to work for her carrots. Too skint for anything else!

groovejet · 23/12/2014 09:19

The dog has his own stocking hanging up Blush he has a couple of chew treats shaped like a toothbrush and a hedgehog, he loves those. Dog biscuits that look a bit like digestives and a new toy, although he is currently destroying his most favourite toy as I type this so may ick up a replacement today. He also has a tin of special dog food for Christmas day.

The cats, are less spoilt but they don't play any more, but they are getting some nice wet cat food and some dreamies.

Is it just me who looks at all the tins of wet pet food debating which one sounds the nicest treat, as if I am buying something for us to eat?

Lovelydiscusfish · 23/12/2014 22:10

No, not just you, groove. All our pets are on dry food only diets now, for various health reasons, but when the cats ate wet food, I certainly used to mull over what sounded more tasty to me! And some of the Gourmet Pearl stuff, or the Sheba domes, used to look quite delicious! Wasn't there a Sheba dome with actual prawns, suspended in jelly? Lovely stuff!

WestEast · 23/12/2014 22:14

Out bitey cat is getting a cat you you put threats in and roll around the floor. Hopefully she'll bite that instead of us for a bit. She also has salmon cat food for breakfast and turkey for an early tea as she's off to the cattery until new year tomorrow.

QueenYnci · 23/12/2014 22:23

The dog has her favourite dog biscuits and a snowman rope toy under the tree. Also will have a stocking next to DS's with a few treats (dog chocs, pigs ears, chews, a squeaky toy etc.) to go next to DS's. She'll be far more interested in the lamb and beef in the oven though!

Wolfiefan · 23/12/2014 22:29

You lovely people!
Wolfiecat is 18 and has just taken delivery of a heated whelping pad. AKA butt warmer! You have never seen an arthritic old lady look happier.
Cherry. Carrots and field is horsey heaven. True.
Disclaimer. I know pets aren't for Christmas. Still hoping this'll be the year that bastard Father Christmas will finally bring me my pony and DH will say I can have a wolfhound!

callmekitten · 23/12/2014 22:59

Some new toys and some catnip for our two kitties. Sadly, I may have to re-label the package ... One of our kitties has been very sick and we just found out she has kidney failure. Hoping she lasts through the holidays but she seems less and less comfortable everyday.

JingleSpud · 23/12/2014 23:01

My cat has a toy stocking and a treat stocking

givemushypeasachance · 23/12/2014 23:20

I'm cat sitting for friends and have been left a stocking to open with her on Christmas day! They also got my boys presents including a treat ball and Dreamies. I'm just as bad, will make sure they all have their fave foods for dinner...

Davros · 23/12/2014 23:38

I have ordered that Cat's Meow toy from amazon, quite reasonably priced at around £10, and one for the neighbours' cats BUT they haven't arrived. I don't suppose the cats will know. Other neighbour got Dr Mewler a special treats jar with her name on and a tube of her favourite treats - Thrive prawns. She doesn't really eat food other than her own dried food but I've got her turkey flavour for Xmas day (and after) and she can have a few extra treats and cuddles. Two different neighbours' kids popped round today to cuddle her, she loves attention!

GahLinDah · 24/12/2014 06:02

Ho ho ho all you lucky pets Santa Claws is on his way. Xmas Grin

(excuse mess) Xmas Blush

what are you buying .... for pets!
pieceoftoast · 24/12/2014 06:20

Both dog and cat normally on dry food so I have wrapped up for them each two pouches of wet chicken & turkey flavoured food (dog food & cat food respectively of course, just Tesco's). I have wrapped up for the dog a packet of mini chicken jumbones and for the cat a packet of chicken flakes that look like rubber but are apparently 89% real chicken(!).

DS (about to turn 4) and I have been discussing whether Father Christmas leaves presents for pets, and if ours have been good enough to deserve them! Apparently the dog has but the cat hasn't! Grin

insancerre · 24/12/2014 06:26

Dh bought dd's hamster a tepee

R4roger · 26/12/2014 10:57
