What have you brought your OH for Xmas?

Twinklestar2 · 19/12/2014 22:25

It's my OH's bday 2 days after xmas so I've got double the presents to buy! Anyone fancy sharing their list?

We became first time parents this year so I've got him a I Love Daddy mug and a Star Wars book from our little boy.

I've got him some Ted Baker smellies in a washbag and some thermal socks (our house is freezing!).

Any more ideas would be gratefully received Smile

Thermal Running gloves and hat
Checked shirt
Framed up print from local artist
Booker prize short list set of books
Lego brick cuff links

Might get him some cologne but that will be it. We spoil the kids and try and reign it in on Christmas.

I made DH a photo album of baby's first few months. He was so touched.

It's our first Christmas as parents too.

I've bought DH from our DS: • personalised pint glass with best daddy love DS on it,
• personalised chocolate bar (same sort of message... He has a memory box of weird stuff so I know the wrapper will be put in),
• a keyring that's been pressed/embossed/stamped with daddy since and the dob of DS.

Then from me, 4 tshirts, (2 tv show related, 2 funny ones) 2 jackets, pjs & slippers..

There's other bits but for the life of me can't remember Confused and it's all wrapped up!

Dh and I stopped buying each other years ago. I don't need anything. Have clothes shoes new house nice car coffee machine. Why buy something I dont need. He is the same. Not one for clothes, has loads of books.

Prefers 3 tonnes of wood for the burner!

Checked shirt from Debenhams
Foo Fighters tickets

The tickets cost me a fortune so that's his lot.

But annabanana it's the thought that counts isn't it? DH and I have been married for 18 years but still both make an effort to think of appropriate gifts for each other - it's nice to feel spoilt sometimes.

But why when I dont want it?

Im not one of those who say "dont need anything" then has a face like thunder when nothing is given. I don't need anything.

Simple. DH an I are happy with the arrangement so I don't know why you get upset by it! Ive known DH for over 20 yrs.....so I think we know each other well by now.

An antenna tuning unit and a balun to go with because everyone wants their feeder impedence to match that of their antenna Grin (He gave me a list of radio ham kit as 'options' but didn't like me prioritisation so he knows what he's getting.)

Beyond that haven't a fecking clue. I was on a course until last week and DP tends to like expensive gadgets so hrm.

annabanana19 - you do know you put a question in your first comment? That was why Jellies answered not because they were upset!

I don't suppose anyone cares if you do presents or not. But why does anyone bother with any of it really. Because it's Christmas!

If I was you though I'd buy the 3 tonnes of wood with a nice red bow on top!

Probably not massively helpful, but the 'usual' stuff - socks, pants, books, aftershave, dvds and a pair of trainers he wants. Just realised how boring that is, but I'm sure he'll be happy with it.

Oh and a portable device charger thing that someone recommended on another thread, which I think he will love!

A wii game
A t-shirt
A mug with "I put the PRO in procrastinator" written on it
Jeans
Chocolate
Pyjamas (this is something he needs rather than wants, he doesn't wear pyjamas but is going to have surgery in January so will need some)
A kit to make his own mozzarella

It is his birthday in jan and I am planning to get him
Kindle voucher (so he has got things to read while recovering from his operation)
World's strongest coffee which I found on Amazon
A board game based on being an Everest expedition guide. He recently enjoyed, in a slightly obsessed sort of way, a programme he had downloaded about people climbing Everest under the leadership of one of these guides. I found it on amazon and thought it would be a funny Christmas gift, but it was a lot of money and he doesn't actually play board games so didn't get it. I told him I had found it and was amazed anyone had made such a thing and he seemed genuinely interested so I will get it for his birthday instead.
