I need urgent advice on a main present for a 12 year old boy, £150 budget.

I'm going through a really traumatic period in my life. Christmas is hardly on my radar, but my 12 year old deserves not to be let down.

His main present hasn't worked out for various reasons, and I need to find him something else tomorrow or saturday.

I'm struggling to even think what I could get him as my mind is just overloaded.

He's got a 32 in TV, xbox, phone, laptop and tablet already. He said to me earlier that he thinks he has too much sometimes. But I want to get him something he will love. I just can't even think.

I've got him turtle beach headphones and xbox live, plus other smaller items. But I'd like something that will cheer him up after the misery we are going through right now.

Any suggestions?

momb, that's a brilliant idea, spending some of that on a childminder for the 2 year old and the rest on whatever he wants to do for a day!

Have 13 and 11 year old sons (and a 15 year old, and a 6 year old...)

I'd suggest a Raspberry pi with shitloads of accessories: not hideously costly (well, as you choose the accessories it's as costly as you want after the first £25) but something he can get into when stressed

Or alternatively a pass card for somewhere the two of you can disappear to together when a break is wanted

I think he's trying to tell you he doesn't need anything

I'd get him cinema vouchers/chocolate/CDs and on Xmas I would keep things very simple and cosy at home with him and the younger kids. I think Denise on This Morning said Xmas was more about keeping it simple and letting your kids see you being happy - THAT will make them happy

He sounds like he doesn't want to put you to any hassle

Saving half of it and spending half - I would prob go for mostly vouchers ?
