Christmas trees, real ones. Where from?

Where did you buy your real Christmas tree? How high is it? And how much did it cost?

we got ours from a local farm, its floor to ceiling tall and was £38. it is a short needled one so will drop but the long needled ones were £65.

We have a 6' Fraser Fir from a local tree farm, it cost £35

Ours is 7 foot tall and no drop. It was £45 from a local farm where they cut it fresh once you've chosen it.

Our local farm trees start at £100. [tut] I'm trying to decide if I can be bothered to drive to Ikea to buy two trees and get a voucher to spend in the new year.

I need two trees. One between 6 and 7 feet and one of about 5 feet 8 inches.

I'm so envious of all your farm shops.

Local garden centre. We have a soft needled 7" Nordman fir. Very lush and fragrant. Cost £49.

I got mine from B&Q. Nordman Fir, 6', was £35, I think. The short-needled ones were cheaper but they drop more and the needles are sharp, which we couldn't have with 11mo DD around.

It's the first year I've ever had a real tree and it's lovely :)

We got ours from Ikea. The voucher convinced DH to do the 2 hr round trip after driving all day at work.
We are buying a bed from there in the new year so the voucher will go towards that. However any money saved is cancelled out by the £50 worth of crap I bought from the Market Place

Mine was just over 6ft. My dad chopped it down from the woods we had to cut some of the top off to fit the fairy on.

Try go local if you can, garden centres etc will have had theirs cut for months.

6ft Nordman, £28 from a farm where you get a tractor ride to the trees, choose one and then they chop it down for you and take it back down to your car on the tractor. They charged us for a 5ft one but when he held it up to the measuring chart it was only about an inch short of 6ft. Couldn't be any fresher.

He manages it. They used to sell loads every year but for the past few years they've not had any small ones. They still do massive ones for churches and rich people though

We got ours from the forestry commision. Its a 6ft (probably closer to 7ft) Norway Spruce and was £24. We've got ours from there for several years running now.

A small independent garden centre/nursery. It's a 6 foot Nordman and cost £32. This is the cheapest and nicest we've had for years.

I bit the bullet and went to our local Christmas tree farm shop. Horribly expensive but very beautiful trees. When I've finished decorating them (tomorrow) I'll post a picture.
