Cost of filling stockings

How much on average Does it cost you to fill stockings? And what's in there roughly?

Iv just added up and both childrens are at around £50, dhs £75+... I don't think there is excessive stuff in them either

As an example, ds1 ( age 4) has:

  • long sleeved t-shirt -£18
  • roald Dahl book -£5
  • mini Lego set -£10
  • choc coins -£3
  • small art Stetch book -£8
  • mini stadtler pens -£8
  • will add satsuma and walnuts - free from fruit bowl

That's similar each year, and ds2 has one of same vibe. I don't mind spending that, but it did surprise me tbh how quickly it adds up. I like them to be useful things that they actually need also due to lack of space!

There are four of us: me, DH and DSes aged 2 and 4. We each have a stocking. I did:

  • One trip to Poundland at a cost of £30
  • One trip to Hotel Chocolat at £10
  • One trip to Claire's Accessories £8
That includes the actual stockings as I can't find our usual ones this year.

DSes each have:

Stickers
Playdoh with tools
A small storybook
Lotus biscuit twin packs
Rainbow drops
Magnetic drawing thing
Paint brushes/sponges (2 yo only)
Alphabet stamps (4 yo only)
Colouring book
Clip on earrings (I recently started wearing earrings now they are old enough to be told not to grab and they are obsessed with wearing some themselves!)
Tiddly Pot (dairy free chocolate drops)

DH has:
Caramel Liqueur
Champagne truffles
Swizzles multipack
Chocolate covered cranberries
Yorkie chunks

I have:
Lotus biscuits
Eyeshadow x2
Nail varnish x2
Hair clips
Fizzy laces

I think there might be more that I haven't remembered. I might also get the boys new felt tips as they need some anyway after all the Christmas craft stuff they do.

My dc have both got a toothbrush, mini tub of pringles, bubble bath, chocolate coins, a Lego key ring, a small Lego set, some stickers. Pretty much the same every year. Around £12.
DH always gets some Molton brown shower gel, a chocolate orange, a bottle of beer and some novelty Christmas socks.
I have gone over board on the bigger gifts though.

Mine are £33 and £42 for 10 items each. There’s no tat, and each have fairly expensive (for me) markers and a dvd each in there. I’m bad at maths, and would blithely think I had no more than £20 worth if I didn’t actually add it all up and keep track.
