I'm stuck! Was going to get my son some Lego Juniors, to start him on his Lego journey (he has Mega Bloks and a little tiny bit of Duplo) but I've made the mistake of telling family, who are now getting him three sets between them.

I don't want to bombard him on Christmas Day with tooooo much Lego Juniors, so that he doesn't appreciate/play with each set individually (yy, I know it'll all end up in a big bucket mixed up eventually, but I'd like for him me to be able to make each set up separately for a few days at least).

He'll be four at the end of Jan, so we can always buy him one of the bigger Lego Junior sets then.

What is everyone else getting? He keeps asking for nasty plastic crap he sees on tv adverts (groan) like Mousetrap or that Play Doh launcher game, but we're not keen.

Budget is up to £70. Any tips appreciated! (friends are buying theirs a bike, but he already has a balance and pedal bike from his last birthday).

I don't know what lego junior stuff is like, but my Ds (middle child) just didn't have the patience to make the models. He is 7.5 now and still more happy playing with duplo and being creative with his Dsis.

All my dc have loved their electronic marble run

My DD, 3.2yo is getting:

Something she wants - A playmobil castle
Something she needs - A trunki ride on suitcase (ready for a family holiday in the Spring)
Something to wear - Frozen pyjamas
Something to read - a nice new picture book for Xmas eve

All DS (4.9) wants is a lot of dinosaurs and dragons so i went to town with the Schleich and got him about 25 dinosaurs and 50 animals. Can't wait to see his face on christmas day...

That's his main presents I should have said, he's getting a few other bits too.

Thank you all so much for your posts, they helped a lot.

Took ds to Toys R Us today for a mooch and he got sooooo excited when we got to the Lego section - he made little squeee noises bless him! (Made onlookers grin). He kept picking up boxes with 8-14 on them, but I explained they were for older children and had too many little pieces.

We've decided to get the Batman Duplo set as opposed to the Lego Juniors, as he seemed to like it and at least we know it won't be too tricky (and that we won't have to worry about the baby swallowing/choking on bits).

Thanks again and merry Christmas Xmas Smile
