Any suggestions for how to wrap the Anna Coronation dresses I've made my girls?

Atm they're hung in suit bags & I've run out of creative inspiration...any creative ideas? Smile

I think you could make an Amazon box work, they do shallow ones, ask on any local fb pages you might belong to asking if anyone has spare ones from Xmas deliveries --lord knows I have box mountain in my loft!!-- then cover / wrap the box creatively so the girls don't have to rip the paper off and reveal crappy box, a wide ribbon perhaps, tissue and table confetti inside. B&M have frozen wrapping paper.

A few years ago I got some great boxes free from a florist - long and not too wide or high and with a completly lift-off lid. I used them to transport curtains and also dried/silk flowers etc when moving.

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 13:33

oooh, there's a florist not far away I could pop in.

I do have some boxes lurking in the garage from moving last Christmas, not sure what they'll be like though so will have to brave the mess that gives me the rage to have a look.

I was going to hang our dress up, but I also think a box is the way to go.....and tissue paper and sparkles....but where to get a box...oh ebay!

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 05/12/2014 14:19

wow those dress boxes cost a fortune on ebay

traviata · 05/12/2014 14:25

I got large boot boxes from a branch of Brantano, just for the asking, they were delighted to get rid of some.

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 14:26

oh, how much is a fortune (I dread to think). I haven't got round to looking yet, just ironing fabric for a fourth one of the same (for a friend's dd)

20/30 quid.

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 15:44

Wow, that's what it's cost to make two dresses! Shock

Disney store sell gift boxes. Some are quite large but I am not sure on price.

MinceSpy · 05/12/2014 17:16

I'd go for the sparkled up suit carrier idea then the dresses can be protected when they are put away. They are amazing dresses, you are so talented.

Notmeagain1 · 05/12/2014 17:24

Oh, OP how beautiful! Your dd's are going to be so pleased and excited.

The dress box with some pretty bows would be wonderful. Be sure to have the camera ready to get their surprise when they open them and then when they are prancing around showing them off once they put them on.

Bloody brilliant job! Xmas Grin

Now can you make me one, pretty please??

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 18:03

bryony, I'm not sure I dare look after the price of the ebay ones Confused

I'll box them to be opened on Christmas day -maybe put the suit bags in with some ribbon/glittery stuff on for storage as well.

Notme, I can add you to my ever growing list (lots of requests for Elsa dresses after I've made those for my own girls).

Oh you got skills. DD would love this!

SoljaBonita · 05/12/2014 18:14

If notme changes her mind could you pretty please make me one?

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 18:20

It'll have to be after Christmas but yes, pm & I'll see what I can do Smile

Would they fit in boot boxes? I have spare ones and I'm sure other MNers may, whereabouts are you?

lucysmam · 05/12/2014 18:44

They probably would fit well enough for wrapping purposes yes. I'm in Doncaster Smile

How beautiful! Seriously impressed.

Rowboat · 05/12/2014 23:48

Op that's lovely!! I second the box with tissue like it's come from somewhere really expensive and magical. Tie a big ribbon round in a tiffany bow (will fall open when pulled like a proper professional bow). That would be great. Your lucky dds!!!Grin

Rowboat · 05/12/2014 23:52

Tiffany bow - sorry on app.

lucysmam · 06/12/2014 09:30

I'll youtube it and have a look, thanks Rowboat.

Dp came home empty handed so I'm going to nip in Deichmann next weekend when I take the girls for a haircut and see if they have a couple of boot boxes I could have.

I've had a tutu made for my niece and using a hat box to wrap it in. That might work?

My first thought was something like this though

lucysmam · 06/12/2014 10:22

oooooh, Rain, I like that very much but we haven't the space for it unfortunately Sad
