Secret bloody Santa

Help required, please!

I've drawn my boss... she is lovely but very quiet & shy and i don't know much about her. She's got a good sense of humour (well, she laughs at my colleagues banter anyway)...

Office has set budget of £5 but I could stretch to £10 (no bah humbug hereWink ).

Vague, I know, but any ideas?

Happened to me once. Rather than buying something naff, I happened to hear a pledge on the local radio raising money for specialist cancer treatment in the US for a local child. So I donated that amount and put the little certificate in an envelope. It was the best secret Santa present and was in the true spirit of Christmas.

A nice hand cream. Can't go wrong

muttonjeffmum · 03/12/2014 20:50

Just don't make the mistake of buying them a joke wig! The guy, luckily, wasn't actually my boss but it went down like a lead balloon with him. I thought it was extremely funny as did my friend.

StripedOss · 03/12/2014 20:53

no no no, do NOT buy people hand cream.

i never ever buy people toiletries, scents are such a personal thing to people.. you'd be better off buying a gift voucher for somewhere!

£10 Costa Coffee card? Nice scarf? Gift box filled with favourite sweets? Photo frame (you could put in a picture of the team)? Scented candle? Stationery?

I would go down the route of buying a nice gift that you think she would like/use rather than something jokey.

small kilner jar, some nice sweets, ribbon round it, done!

Whyamihere · 04/12/2014 12:43

Last year I did boxbox with favourite sweets in (was much appreciated), this year I've bought the book 'Damn you Autocorrect' as the lady I'm buying for has a sense of humour and I think she'd appreciate this, I bought it on Amazon for 4.95, it is very funny.

My boss who's got a sense of humour got a little sign in secret santa a few years ago 'please do come in I am already disturbed' and it's hung on her door ever since. We only give nice or friendly presents around here Xmas Smile

petalsandstars · 04/12/2014 14:46
