what to bring hosts?

sil is hosting us for Christmas (me dh and 2yo ds) what lovely things csn we take to say thanks? am going to ask about taking crackers or pudding, what about the following:
bubbly or wine
reed diffuser
flowers
naice coffee
we will be staying 2 nights. we don't exchange gifts for adults but want to give something extra as they buy for ds.

What about a photo book ? It is pushing it for now but you do have time. If you have photos of places that are important to your SIL or if she has children you could put those in. It doesn't have to be big. I was given one for my birthday. It contained photos of my house, a fav walk, my children, grandparents on both sides. It was lovely.
The other thing is a box of macaroons. M&S do absolutely delicious ones or you can get them gift wrapped from the web.
Extravagant beautiful chocolates. Mmmmm
Aldi do wonderful flowers. I usually get two bunches and open one carefully and put the other inside it. It produces a beautiful huge bunch of flowers.

What you've suggested sounds lovely. Though for two nights over Christmas I'd probably take bubbly and wine. That might just be me though

I would probably take more than enough champagne, wine and port, and probably a naive cheese selection.

Port! Bubbles, wine, cheese, PICKLED WALNUTS, tasty crackers, chocolates.

A bottle of Baileys, if they like it? Or some other festive type drink.
Cheese, cheese biscuits, chutney?
A nice wrapped hand soap?

some lovely ideas, thankyou. sil doesn't have kids but loves ds so photo of him might go down well. will buy a few decadent foodstuffs and somevwine etc love giving gifts I will get to consume myself!

Posh smoked salmon or a ham for Boxing Day (somewhere like Dukeshill)?We always take Christmas pudding from Fortnums or perhaps posh mince pies (and rum butter). Betty's of Harrogate always has nice things. Nice champagne always goes down well. Can always wrap up with nice Christmas apron, tea towel, napkins that sort of thing.

On another note you and your DS could make marzipan fruits or peppermint creams for something more personal.

My SIL brought a hamper one year and it was small but filled with things she liked. Please don't do that. The stuff was really weird.

I'd take some wine and the ingredients for a decent cheeseboard. Then it could form part of a meal over the course of your stay. Please tell your hosts that you'll be bringing it!
