Thought it might be nice to have a separate thread here :) Let the lightening clicking begin Grin

I am desperately looking for a deal on a PS3. And Minecraft. DS wants both for Christmas. Argos were doing a bundle, €200 for the two (am in Ireland) so I ordered it, and it was due in stock at the weekend, has to be collected by me today at the latest.

If I go get it today, and then find it on a lightning deal with Amazon, will Argos refund me if I bring it back??

I am a bit addicted to checking the upcoming deals etc. but I have to admit to being more than a bit disappointed with the actual deal price for most things - apart from my George Michael CD, obviously!

TranquilityofSolitude · 26/11/2014 09:36

trixy - that's the set my DD wanted. The discount was almost non-existent! I was glad I'd checked before.

SoMuchForSubtlety · 26/11/2014 09:57

I've just bought a cordless drill, a motion sensing light and the suck uk apron. I do need all of them, except possibly the apron (she says, hastily justifying).

I'd forgotten it was Black Friday deals week until I saw this thread!!

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 10:09

Not seen much of interest so far apart from the monster high DVD set I missed out on Monday. DS2 says there's an xbox one again but I can't see it yet.

GirlAnachronism · 26/11/2014 10:09

for those of you that missed it, Mysterious cities of gold is coming back today at 3.10pm

PreMadonna · 26/11/2014 10:16

Cities of gold is at 3.10

Wooooo Ooooh Oooo Oh Cities of Gooooold......

mabelbabel · 26/11/2014 10:17

Just a general comment, but I think it's always been the case that there were some things which were genuinely good bargains, and others not so much. What I think is missing so far this year, is the really big ticket items with big discounts, and the mystery items which used to just have a clue and usually were around 9pm in the evening. That made things interesting.
I'd quite like a big discount on Prime to come up (they used to do LoveFilm discounted memberships).

mabelbabel · 26/11/2014 10:24

I am quite tempted by Cities of Gold. Would have to buy it literally at the school gates...

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 10:34

I'd love the dog DNA kit! Can't afford it though. Apparently recent doggy addition to the family is bichon frise x Labrador! Grin

ClaimedByMe · 26/11/2014 10:37

I ordered the kickers boots for ds as his school shoes are falling to bits as usual

Tortoise the dog DNA kit is fab i got it 2 years ago it confirmed our fears that our dog is a bit pitbull

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 10:47

Claimedbyme It would have to have a huge reduction in price to warrant buying it. Its not an essential purchase but would be nice to know for sure. He's beautiful whatever his breed Grin

Housemum · 26/11/2014 10:50

I giggled at the doggie DNA test, had visions of a doggie Jeremy Kyle show!

Disappointing today, I might consider a handbag later but only if it's cheap - one of the reviews said they bought it for £22 so will only hit the button if it's around that price! (RRP £50 or £60)

Was hoping they'd do the Stitch/Merida infinity 2.0 rather than the Marvel one as my youngest 2 have never seen the avengers films. Disney infinity seems a bit of a swizz to me (what a surprise) - from what I know of Skylanders, the new sets work with the old games. We bought Infinity last year, but none of the new characters can work in the old game, you need to buy the new 2.0 game.

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 10:57

xbox one at 12.30 and its a cheaper bundle. Would have to flex the credit card to buy! Needs to be under £300!

ClaimedByMe · 26/11/2014 11:01

Remember in the good old days they would put up an Amazon box with a wee clue so we can have a wee teaser of whats to come...I miss that

WhispersOfWickedness · 26/11/2014 11:06

Claimed, I remember you buying the doggie dna kit the other year Grin
I will be on school run again for cities of gold DVD Sad

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 11:17

I miss the clues too.
Hoping for the 1D album to pop up sometime. I bought on preorder last year and they had signed copies on black friday!

ClaimedByMe · 26/11/2014 11:22

Im waiting on fifa 15 for the xbox appearing, anything else I buy will be on impulse!

GirlAnachronism · 26/11/2014 11:46

gutted, i missed Lords of Waterdeep, clicked as soon as it became available but alas, not fast enough :( can't really justify £29 on full price

AlPacinosHooHaa · 26/11/2014 12:08

can someone tell me how to find the deals, i cant see where they are even listed?

ClaimedByMe · 26/11/2014 12:11

Top right hand corner of the amazon home page, click on that and you will get a row of products in the middle of the page, use the arrow at the sides to flick through the current and upcoming deals.

Tortoise · 26/11/2014 12:20

10 mins until xbox one. Bet this goes mega quickly! Ive got it up on laptop and phone in case one goes slow/crashes like yesterday!

AlPacinosHooHaa · 26/11/2014 12:25

Housemum · 26/11/2014 12:34

Tortoise - didn't go too quickly - did you go for it?
