Special Christmassy breakfast (not for Xmas day)

I'm looking for some ideas for a nice Christmassy breakfast. Simple and fairly easy but I want something a bit special. It'll only be for 2 adults and 3 children, I've got some pastries in the freezer that I was thinking of baking, but what else?

I love nigellas Xmas breakfast muffins, and of course champagne at breakfast screams Christmas

he he he... maybe champers with pancakes and a fruit selection for toppings... . or I like the sound of breakfast muffins. cheese muffins with a selection of ham, cheese, marmalades etc?

Pastries and proper coffee would be good for me- maybe with gingerbread syrup?
Some people might want meat though, how about mini Cumberland sausages and fresh rolls and salsa?

Christmas tree shaped crumpets
Iced star shaped gingerbread cookies (Leuberkoken?)
Star shaped panettone
Silver sparkles in the drinks
Gold chocolate coins decorating the plates

Scrambled egg with smoked salmon

Frozen berries in the glasses of fizz
Christmas pudding ice cream with toasted brioche

cinnamon french toast with berries and creme fraiche...

Cinnamon swirls

American pancakes (Waitrose sell the Aunt Jemima readymade stuff if you're feeling lazy), with maple syrup and mixed berries or streaky bacon (soak it overnight in maple syrup too if you want a real treat!).

Served with champers or bucks fizz.

Divine.

I've already got the coffee and gingerbread syrup ;) I was wondering about serving bubbly or Buck's Fizz because we are going on the train afterwards to christmas shop and to see the christmas lights- I don't want a headache by lunchtime ;)

sainsbo's do a luuurvely clementine bucks fizz that isn't very alcoholic if you're worried about getting tipsy. i think its about 4 quid a bottle. we have it on Christmas morning as opposed to making 'proper' bucks fizz for that exact reason

Agree about the clementine bucks fizz, though I use it to make jelly with.

You can get gingerbrwad syrup in any supermarket in the coffee section or starbucks and costa also do it.

That clementine Buck's Fizz is Devine!

Last couple of years I've done Belgian sweet waffles with a version of Delia's spiced dried fruit compote and Greek yoghurt. Lovely and went down v well.

I get the whittards gingerbread syrup, I'm hoping to get a new one in my stocking this year!

I see that there are small children at the Christmasy breakfast, so crackers are a must!

My mum used to make toasted sandwiches in the Breville with mincemeat in them then sprinkle with icing sugar. You could do them or make them into French toast for a festive morning mince pie?

Panettone! It is actually bread, not cake. It's not Christmas morning for me without a buttered (!) slice of it.
