I'm a miser when it comes to presents from me (just one), but go mad on the stockings. Just being nosy as to what other people have in them (pictures optional Xmas Wink)

Mine have
Matey
Festive friends
a tree decoration
chocolate coins
a Satsuma
toothbrush
tube of sweets
chocolate santa
shiny coin
giant party popper
can of silly string
led bike valve
stick on moustaches
led shoelaces
The snowman handwarmers
mini microscope

ds also has
toy motorbike
mask of favourite celebrity
bike light
fake poo

dd has
hair clips
cat shaped ring
and need to get her a couple of other bits, probably a sylvanian figure or something else for the dollshouse.

They also get an actual present from Father Christmas. Every year I think I have too much in the stockings and will buy less next year but I never do!

Clip on earrings for younger ones. Real earrings for 10yo

That's it..... so far

cobblers I suppose it just seems a bit childish now but I do love sitting in bed with him Xmas morning opening our stockings together. Next Xmas baby will be 13 months so I suppose all 3 of us could be sitting in bed opening stockings. Awwww.

phoebs88 · 08/11/2014 20:20

I love doing the stockings for the children, it's one of my favourite parts of Xmas. I normally budget £20 and set myself a challenge of seeing how much I can get for my money, using bargains and offers.

WhizzpopWhizzBang · 08/11/2014 21:59

Type of stuff I put in:

A book
chocolate coins
a tube of Smarties
felt tips/pens
notebook
slipper socks
mini diary
one of those magic flannels that are teeny tiny and then expand in water Smile
toy cars
bouncy ball
Top trumps cards

WhizzpopWhizzBang · 08/11/2014 22:00

Board game

How the heck do you fit a board game into a stocking?! Confused Grin
Imagining either a great big feck off giant foot stocking or trying to wrestle a full size Monopoly box in there Grin

Sallystyle · 08/11/2014 22:50

I cheated this year and bought pre-filled ones, so I am not really sure what is in them.

Frontron · 09/11/2014 08:26

I was shopping for stocking fillers on Friday - both DS 4.5 & 6 have exactly the same items with colour variations if I get them in blue and green. I fill them with random bits and pieces that then end up in their "randoms" drawer and make sporadic appearances throughout the year.
So far:

Noise squizzer magnets
Blank drywipe flash cards
Lego keyring
Bobblehead monsters kit
Crazy soap
Glow sticks
Flashing wheel
Bag of soldiers
Rubix torch
Flashing yoyo
Slime tube
Astronaut ice cream
Finger skateboard
Glow spinners
Rubberband ball
Brain parp noisemaker
Chattering teeth
Turtles blo pens
Chocolate coins

I'll keep an eye out for any other bits that take my fancy. Their stockings are deliberately quite large so they have plenty to occupy them until main presents are opened later

Frontron · 09/11/2014 08:31

Magic flannel! I knew there was something i'd forgotten about. And a travel board game would go nicely in there too :)

enormouse · 09/11/2014 08:39

Both DSes get
Christmas jumper
Socks
Underwear (in DS1s case - boxers and vests, DS2 vests)
Matey bubblebath
Toothbrush
A balloon

DS1 (3) will get
2 schleich animals
A few Corgi cars
A mini pack of shortbread
Gruffalo chocolate lolly

DS2 (9 months) will get
A reindeer comforter
2 schleich animals
Tales from acorn wood board books

ChippyMinton · 09/11/2014 09:18

For the DSs
Chocolate Orange
Lynx
Playing cards
Silly pants
Blu tack
Tube of sweets
In ear headphones
Chapstick
Pretzels
Bottle of pop
Call of Duty figures
Batteries (for torches, consoles etc)

For DD
Similar but girly stuff like hair bobbles, make up bits and pieces, stuff with pugs on, like a floating bath plug, a cushion.

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 09:52

I too often wonder how people physically fit the bigger things in the stockings? Do you have huge ones?

ChippyMinton · 09/11/2014 10:02

Have lovely stockings plus an empty pillow case on standby Smile

VinoTime · 09/11/2014 11:02

Christmas is the one time of year I claim temporary insanity, because I do go a bit mad Grin

This year in dd's (7.5) stocking there will be:

Polar Express golden 'Believe' ticket
Polar Express sleigh bell in a lovely little box
Dominoes
Wooden pick up sticks game
Coin purse
A ballerina necklace
Temporary fairy tattoos
A Hollywood wooden clapper board
Jumbo playing cards
Play money
An owl watch key chain keyring
Girly lip balm
A couple of cheap Replay DVD's that I picked up in Poundland (can't remember what they are now...)
Some Mr Men books
Sock monkey making kit
A Christmas themed book - A Letter to Santa
A pencil case with pencils, etc inside
A Christmas themed activity/sticker book
A Coke bottle with her name on it wearing a little Santa hat (decorative purposes only - dd doesn't have fizzy juice)
Monster high battery operated toothbrush
A tube of pink Smarties
A box of Christmas Haribo
Chocolate coins - milk and white
Some chocolate Santas

I still need to get a couple of the small Zelf figures and a couple of the individual Shopkins baskets you pick up in the supermarkets, and a selection box. After that, it'll be a case of whatever else I see that tempts me between now and Christmas Eve and decide we cannot do without... Hmm

fuzzpig · 09/11/2014 16:44

DCs (DD 7 DS 5) are both getting top trumps (old sets from eBay), oidroids, lego mixel, colour your own spinning top. Also I'm considering goalie gloves for them. Apart from that, some edibles, usually character undies and socks too.

agoodbook · 09/11/2014 21:13

rjnomore my DD's stockings were hand knitted, but are huge- like a wellie sock for a giant ! And , as they are now over 30 years old, have stretched Grin, but they always were filled so the big stuff "spilled out" of the top , as if FC was in a rush.... sadly - they don't believe in FC anymore :(

Galaxymum · 09/11/2014 21:48

Until last year we didn't do stockings. Stockings had the dogs' names on when I grew up! My friend did me a stocking last year and it was ace and I did one for DD too. So far she has mini My Little Pony mini ones she is missing from her collection, the series 6 Lego Friends bags and My Little Pony socks. EBay is my friend! I am seeking inspiration for inexpensive items she would like on this thread.

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 22:24

The knitted stockings sound lovely.

I cross stitched this for dd2 but it isn't very big

It looks just like her when she was smaller except she trailed her dude behind her not a teddy. I've been working on one for dd1 but it will take me several years I think!

I reckon this is our last Santa year Sad she's 10 and I can't see it lasting much longer.

agoodbook · 09/11/2014 22:50

Thats sweet - RJnomore -mine were knitted by my best friend, and have my DD's names knitted into them on the side - and they still come on either Xmas day or Boxing day and I still put their presents in them. I tried one year not to, but was begged to start again :) their DP's sort of sigh ....!

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 09/11/2014 22:58

Polar Express golden 'Believe' ticket
Polar Express sleigh bell in a lovely little box

I have not seen the film can you put this into context for me please...

SteveBrucesNose · 11/11/2014 08:52

Only DH to make a stocking for here, but he's having:

Evil Hot Gummi Bears from firebox
Beard oils
Chocolate frog
Bertie Botts every flavor beans
Chocolate coins
Socks
chocolate orange minis
chocolate santa
Hankerchiefs with his initial on them

And one small 'main' present as usual - we always buy a small thing to put in stockings so that we find it in amongst the chocolate and tat. Oh dear, just looked at that, and there's not much that isn't edible in there. Oh well. Never mind!
