Christmas presents for teachers

I know this has been done before but does anyone have any slightly unusual ideas for teachers. I wanted something a little more thoughtful but no more than £10. TA's will get a box of chocs but my two have particularly inspiring teachers which is already noticeable this year and I wanted something a bit nicer

NOTHING is nicer than a card with a lovely message in, I am a teacher and I keep them all.

otherwise... :) nice notebooks, and those notebooks that have different sized post-its in are really handy. paperchase is your friend

I second a lovely card. I've kept everyone. One of the nicest presents I received was a lovely ornament for my tree. The pupil had picked it out for me based on my favourite colours. I've still got it 8 years later. It always makes me smile when I put it in my tree!

On my tree!

a garden centre voucher

I was just about to write the very same thing as riskit! We teachers love fancy stationery Grin.

I have also kept every card I have ever been given since I started teaching. I love a heartfelt message. I once got one of those little wooden signs that had my name and a message about being a great teacher on it. Not usually my thing but because a 16 yr old boy had picked it out and personalised it for me I love it.

Not on the high street have some nice things.

I agree with the tree ornaments, I've been given a couple over the years and love them - makes me think of the little lovelies that gave them to me when I hang them.

When dd was at primary school we did a lottery ticket and a nice card

mmgirish · 06/11/2014 08:03

I'm a teacher and love it when I get a nice card too. Teachers all seem to love a nice bottle of wine or tipple of choice too though. I have gotten a few personalised things over the year and think those are so thoughtful.

I've just ordered personalised Christmas notebooks from funky pigeon. They haven't arrived so can't yet comment on the quality.

Last year at end of term I filled a pencil case with
A miniature wine bottle
a bar of chocolate
pain killers
plasters
an eraser
post it notes
a tea bag
ear plugs
bubble bath sachet.
I then wrote out humerous instructions for what they were to be used for. The wine, bubble bath and chocolate to be used in conjunction with each other. It was well received.

I've ordered a box Monty and Mabel mug in a tin from The JL ad. If they don't like it they can regift or take it to the charity shop. It's the thought that countsGrin

tassisssss · 06/11/2014 14:22

i'm thinking nice christmas mug (super cheap from morrisons) filled with tablet and wrapped in cellophane.

but I action about 5% of such ideas so may end up getting lovely scented candles 3 for 2 from boots (I have 3 kids).

i'm very very thankful that for the first year in a while I have no male teachers to buy for!

Galaxymum · 06/11/2014 17:07

Jar of smiley chocolate faces from Thorntons was very well received by DD's TA.

goldenlilliesdaffodillies · 06/11/2014 18:18

Tree decoration and handmade card.

ShyGirlie · 06/11/2014 19:10

coffee shop vouchers VERY gratefully received Smile

Threeplus1 · 06/11/2014 19:14

We always bake cookies and do a handmade card

DaisyFlowerChain · 06/11/2014 19:32

I'm going with coffee shop vouchers this year. I avoid mugs as they must get hundreds but have done jewellery, scarves, stationery etc dependant upon tastes.
