Zipzap my DS has been into Skylanders since they came out, and I agree that you would be better off getting an older game first - I have seen last year's game SwapForce as cheap as £10 in HMV sometimes.

HOWEVER - the joy of Skylanders is that once he starts he will always want to add to his collection with new Skylanders and accessories as you need these to expand the game more .So if you do go down the Sklanders route you will need to be prepared to buy (or be nagged to buy) extras whenever you are near a shop. Luckily nowadays you can often pick up second hand ones quite cheaply from places like Game or Cex but it does work out very expensive in the long-run. You will always know what to suggest when other people ask what he would like for Christmas and birthdays though.

Not a massive bargain but ASDA had frozen busy books in for £4.50.

Any john Lewis voucher codes around?

I don't think Ive ever seen a John Lewis voucher code happsymum on all my years on this thread. Think they just have their price matching of other retailers generally.

JL don't do codes, they are to posh.

John lewis don't do codes ever. They will price match so for instance if frasers have ladies wear on offer they will match any in house brands such as hobbs or Karen millen

I ordered a steam cleaner from the Vax offer on Thursday.
It came today.
It was a bargain.

Zipzap we are new to skylanders as I saw the starter set in toys r us for less than a tenner. Was meant for Christmas but I gave it my dc after a particularly hard weekend. Its the giants version and they love it! The figures are all reduced so have almost got full set already using pocket money and well done for good parents evening etc. Been really pleased witb the game too :)
