'Real' doctors kit...

My DD is all about playing doctor (or vet on our poor dog Wink) and a 'real' stethescope on the bargain thread has inspired me to make her a doctors kit...

Except now I'm pretty stuck.

They sell syringes (like the type you use to give calpol) on Amazon for 95p, so maybe them...

Any other ideas?

I know, she has one. And a doc mcstuffins set...

I just thought she'd like it if it looked more real.

Like, she loves her wooden makeup set but she likes my makeup a lot more Wink

Tendon hammers are fairly cheap, if you can be sure she won't hit people over the head with them....

Have a look on Goodies For Nurses website

You could get Bandages, bandaids, thermometer, toy sewing kit &scissors for stitches. White lab coat (although most Dr's don't wear them nowadays due to hygiene reasons).Little bottles for medicines, note pad &pen for writing scripts.Small id badge, Toy mobile phone for emergency calls. Watch for time keeping. Toy mini organiser/tab for appointments/patient notes.

What about a little nurse's watch?

I made some x-rays and a prescription pad from here for ds's kit which he loved. I laminated them to make them more durable.

All these suggestions are amazing! Thankyou Grin

I have just finished ordering my 4 year dd some things for a real doctors kit. From Amazon i have ordered a "real" pink stethescope, pink nurses watch, pink tourniquet, eye torch, selection of syringes and a pack of surgical masks. From Home Bargains i have been picking up bandages, micropore tape and sterile dressings non have cost me more than 50p. My MIL works in a chemist and has picked me up some brown pill bottles. Currently searching for a bag and perscription pad. Debating an id badge too.

That's a lovely idea, shame DS is too old for it as he used to love playing doctor and we just had the toy kit.

Happy to help out if you don't have a laminator to make the ID badge etc as would post easily.

DS has bandages in his doctors kit, he also has a peg which he turned into a Sats monitor

MisForMumNotMaid · 28/10/2014 09:29

Clipboard and pen for patients notes.

Tweezers

I bought a lovely tin in tiger yesterday. I'm going to use it as a first aid box but it would be good for this too I reckon. It's red with a hand on the front with plasters on.

I got dn a Sphygmomanometer from amazon a real one from amazon for about £8 it went down well

forgivenminds · 28/10/2014 13:33

What about plastic gloves and surgical masks they are cheap on amazon and eBay or a Ophthalmoscope

IsItMeOr · 28/10/2014 13:40

The very long bandage that DMIL recycled from DSIL's childhood kit for DS to play with was a great hit.

What about a vanity bag/case it has little compartments to keep bits in like this
