I am going to get teh girly one

one each for the dds

they will LOVE it

NastyNemo666 · 02/10/2006 20:56

what are they..I mean how do they work as advent calenders?

charliebat · 02/10/2006 20:57

You open the big box and have to make 24/25 little boxes...like a flat pack advent calendar...then you put all the little toys in the little boxes and hang it on the wall...1 each day.

We've had one for 4 years now (dd was 5, ds unborn when we first had it). The only year we had to be careful was when ds was 18 months old and into everything. Last year age 2.6 he adored it. Really good value for money as this will be our 5th year and it is still as good as new. And it makes a really nice Christmas display. Cannot recommend highly enough

NastyNemo666 · 02/10/2006 21:27

no he would be fine with the one box a day thing...just wondering how appropriate it would be.

NN I would say he'd like it, its fun adding a bit to the scene each day.

NastyNemo666 · 02/10/2006 21:40

think I will get him one and he could keep it in his room so DD cant grab it.

GeorginaA · 02/10/2006 21:48

Any ideas for a similar thing for a 2.4 yr old? I still feel he's a bit little for Playmobil yet although his older brother adores the playmobil calendars.

Don't really want to get a choccy one for ds2 - but I want him to have something fairly exciting to open too ... any ideas?

NastyNemo666 · 02/10/2006 21:49

not the same but I got ds a little people nativity set when he was 14mths..will do as DDs version of playmobile this year and she will be 12mths

PopsP · 03/10/2006 12:38

We got my son the Lego advent calender one year, he really loved it, but it was not a cute as the Playmobil one.

Has anyone had the Baby Bjorn one before, I could not decide if it was worth the money last year.

tassis · 03/10/2006 12:41

Georgina, there's a wall hanging nativity one in the Baker Ross catalogue that might work for you?

MrsScareyFish · 03/10/2006 12:41

we recylce orus every year

GeorginaA · 03/10/2006 12:50

Thanks tassis - I'll have a look. I didn't really want an overly religious one (I liked Playmobil because it was just a christmas scene rather than a nativity). At the same time though, I do want something exciting for ds2. Will investigate

Posey · 03/10/2006 14:12

There were also some rather lovely (and expensive, but reusable ones) in the GLTC catalogue which arrived yesterday.

GeorginaA · 03/10/2006 14:21

Ooo I'll have a look - I got that yesterday too, but haven't got around to opening it yet!!!
