My dh and I have been married for 10years in December. I have managed to organise him a midweek day off work without him knowing and want to do something amazing on it....but I am stuck. Please help. We are in south east with an ok budget. Have you surprised your dp like this? What did you do? Thanks

I did this as a Christmas gift for DH a few years ago and took him to Bruges on the euro star. Other ideas might be tea at the ritz? Dinner and a show? What sort of things does he enjoy?

Haven't been on any, but the British Pullman rail journeys look lovely. Not at all cheap though.

Husky adventure in Lapland (adult version) either day trip or few nights. Both me and dh said riding over the fells with a team of huskies was one of the best days of our lives!

I haven't done so but if I did plan a December suprise for DH it would involve Christmas Markets and beer (Trappist/ Belgian beer)

I would go to a Christmas market in Germany, if budget allowed.

Really posh lunch out in London. And theatre or exhibition. A stay in a swanky London hotel

Lots of the top end restaurants have really good value lunch deals

I wouldn't go abroad with one day off mid week. It wouldn't be relaxing at all.

Wow thanks...the huskys sound amazing. I was thinking travelling into london and going to somerset house ice skating then a nice afternoon tea somewhere nice and then a walk looking at the lights yo the hyde park winter wonderland and then home. What do you think?

If that's what he likes then do it. My DH would hate it - personal taste though isn't it.

Travel zoo have a lot of deals (and ideas) for meals and outings in London (as well as elsewhere). I LOVE fancy afternoon teas (especially with fancy cocktails thrown in).
