Theonlyoneiknow · 19/10/2014 10:43

Thanks for dolly tip!! I can't find the magazine subscription link for kids, probably being thick could someone repost it? It's a wet few days ahead and on hols so hoping to be pro active with shopping!

itwillbecold · 19/10/2014 10:50

Coughle you are most welcome to lurk. I never have much to say except thanks to other posters :). I stay on here for the general ambience Blush as there is very little arguing goes on, and the heads up on bargains. i am a grandmother so am always interested to know what you can buy for those awkward inlaws etc :). I am not much bothered by receiving gifts, I get a huge amount of pleasure from choosing and gifting for others. Love it when I hit the hit the spot for someone although i don't always get it right Flowers

Waitingonasunnyday · 19/10/2014 11:01

I need something small in price but generous in thought for DC to give to relatives (6 women and 8 men, ranging from teens to 60s), last year was scarves and survival credit cards... Any bright ideas please?

Coughle · 19/10/2014 11:27

Thanks it will be cold Flowers

I love choosing gifts too, I only have a few people to buy for as we do a secret Santa for the extended family, but I get a big kick out of it! Last year I got DH the gift he'd been dreaming about since he was a tiny boy so I don't think I can improve on that Smile

daddykyller · 19/10/2014 11:45

Waterproof travel bag AND accessory peeler for 79p and free delivery. from a sho pon amazon
Crazy price-The shop must be losing money on this one.

Neeko · 19/10/2014 11:46

Reastie- THE BOOK PEOPLE CODES IN THE OP AREN'T VALID

But AFCELESTE gets you 10% off.

That's another couple of presents done Smile.

supermariossister · 19/10/2014 12:09

she's 12 I don't think it's because she felt cheeky but I'll show her some things on amazon I think and see

kiwidreamer · 19/10/2014 12:12

supermario what about a Primark gift voucher for clothes and bits, if I were 12 I'm sure I'd go mad with joy in there with £30 / £40 / £50 ;)

missmakesstuff · 19/10/2014 12:22

I am not doing very well with the zaavi free DVDs, I cannot get it to accept my card at all.

I have been worrying about the sassy bloom box I ordered, apparently they say that you can't cancel until you've had the first box, but before the 15th of the month, well that's fine, but they also say that the box will be with me by the 17th, so they have me over a barrel as I have to have paid for another! I might try just emailing them everyday to cancel from the 1st onwards, then maybe I will get lucky!
I've got several people left to get for, mostly adults now, my bloke friends, plus Dad, Mum etc, always the difficult ones!

itwillbecold · 19/10/2014 12:48

Can anyone suggest where to get cushion boxes cheap (obviously) to wrap the many scarves I have bought as gifts :)

I have thought about including a shopping bag in everyone's gift this year because of the blanket introduction of a charge for carrier bags. Probably too late for Aliexpress order so if you spot any bargains can you please link. Flowers

SunflowerSmile · 19/10/2014 12:54

Coughle I was going to send the same pleading email about shipping some of those kids magazines to Australia too!

So envious of the great bargains in the UK!

Elvish · 19/10/2014 12:59

Itwillbecold I got a fold up shopping bag in IKEA a few weeks ago as I'd forgotten to take anything to carry all the little bits of rubbish I randomly picked up I think it was £1 and it's as good as my M&S one which was more like £4!

Elvish · 19/10/2014 13:01

I was about to suggest eBay to Pigley but Nocuts got there first. eBay is great for that kind of toy, you can wash them if they are old and dusty and as long as they aren't smashed you know they will work.

supermariossister · 19/10/2014 13:14

that's a good idea kiwi, maybe one of them with the promise of a train trip in the new year

Elvish · 19/10/2014 13:27

Neeko, did you get charged for delivery using that book people code? I've just tried it on an order over £25 which should get free delivery but because the discount takes the order under £25 (by 48p!) I'm getting charged more in postage than the 10% discount Angry

I don't really need to order anything else so I might just hold off for now, but it took me a while to work out what was happening so I thought I'd share.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 19/10/2014 13:31

supermario I have asked a just turned 13yr old what presents she want this year. Her answers were:
stationary
cds
loom band book
make up
hair straighteners
new camera
and lots of money for clothes!!!!

Think that age is probably the most difficult to buy for
