For the people who put pjs in the Xmas eve hampers... Do you have themed Xmas ones or just a new pair of pjs?

As it's Christmas Eve, I just do new pjs, not Xmas ones as they get worn throughout the year and snowmen in June seems a bit odd!

When dc were tiny I did Xmas ones because they'd outgrow them so quick but now they're 4 and 7 I just buy nice ones.

PesoPenguin · 12/10/2014 13:55

We don't do a 'hamper' ( I have an irrational hatred of that word!) but do do new pjs ( so ds is not scruffy when he's opening his presents). They're not Christmassy though, this year d's wants a transformers onesie.

I do the Christmas themed ones on the 1st of December so they can be worn throughout December. I also try to pick Christmas ones that can be worn through the year and not look daft Wink so no Santa Claus, more wintery woodland themed or robins etc.

Christmas Eve aren't Christmas themed at all usually, just any nice pyjamas I find throughout the year. Last year it was Little Bird ones from mothercare. This year I quite like the red and white striped white company ones which are slightly elf like and cute Grin.

Guitargirl · 12/10/2014 14:32

I do Christmassy ones. I buy them big enough to fit for the following year as well and then bring them out December 1st of the next year.

LokiBear · 12/10/2014 14:37

Christmas ones. They are worn throughout the year too. Only worn to bed so no one sees. I usually buy the cheap supermarket ones. DD's were £5 last year.

kimlo · 12/10/2014 14:40

I just buy normal ones, I couldn't put them in christmas ones after January.

Mine get christmas eve pajamas from me, and always get some from santa as well.

BiddyPop · 12/10/2014 14:53

2011 and 2012 were both Christmas/winter themed fleece pjs. That dd is slow growing, she still fits.

Last year, it was an owl theme pair.

This year, I have an Angry Birds onesie from an M&S clearance put away for it.

She'll happily wear Christmas themed pjs in the middle of summer if she's having a cold few days though!

Ermm... someone please tell me what is a Christmas Eve hamper?

I feel I might be missing out some crucial Christmas thing here. Confused

CactusSeven · 12/10/2014 15:14

We don't do a Christmas Eve hamper. But I sometimes put pyjamas in stockings - or in boots for St Nicholas on Dec 6th.

I have sometimes done Christmassy ones - I don't mind them wearing them throughout the year, they are just in bed so not like anybody sees them.

I have got them Frozen ones this year, so quite wintry if not Christmassy.

Twinklestar2 · 12/10/2014 20:28

Thanks all.

I think I'm going to do December 1st hamper instead! Good tip!

Winter style instead of Xmas is also a good idea Smile
