£450 worth of computer games (10 games at between £40 and £50 each!) plus a PSN gift card, and a steam gift card.....to buy more computer games.

That's it - nothing else on the list.

New hoody or trainers
Nicer than normal smellies
A couple of games
Vouchers for six months of games as suggested above

Several years ago when we were a bit short of cash, DS had a treat box for his 7th birthday. In it was loads of treats he was particularly fond of so sugary breakfast cereal, some cupcakes, different sweets and chocolates (spot the theme here!) a selection of soft fruits, posh jam, marshmallow fluff etc. It worked for us as I bought a little bit each week and ended up as a huge box.
To this day he still talks about it and the fact that it was all his own :o

I know nothing about gaming etc but as I have a6 yr old DS maybe this is my futureMN Question - oh help !

Long shot but is there a gaming convention /exhibition that you could buy him entry to ... Depending on where it is May involve stop over etc ?

Thanks for all the ideas. I will put some of them to him, but it's not really so much that I couldn't think of things to give him (he could do with a bigger tv for is bedroom, he fancied a smart watch at one point and also an Xbox1) it's the fact that that isn't what he wants.

When he was little he wouldn't write a list at all as "Santa always knows what i like and brings me stuff I didn't even know I wanted" :) The last couple of years I have got him some stuff from his list and other things that I thought he'd like, Some of that hasn't been touched.

I don't want to waste money and I equally don't want to spend all his budget on Computer Games Confused

I think I have settled on buying his top 4 games and the regular things he gets (pyjamas etc) and giving the rest as cash. I'm hoping that when he sees that added to cash gifts from relatives and what he has already in his account, he will change his mind and save for something bigger rather than spending it all on games.
