Christmas Eve is actually my favourite day of the year, I love the excitement. Christmas music goes on first thing in the morning and everyone wears christmas jumpers. We usually have last minute jobs to do like collecting the turkey etc but we try to have everything done by mid-afternoon. In the afternoon we all watch a Christmas film and have mince pies, and we have a buffet party food tea. After tea we hang stockings and burn the last night of the advent candlelight, and the Elves leave new pyjamas on the DCs beds. We also used the NORAD track Santa app last year which DS really loved.

I love Christmas eve, me and dd will be listening to Christmas songs and I might decorate some biscuits with her to take for the afternoon because she'll be spending a few hours at her nan's house with her dad, while she's gone I'll do last minute tidying and sort her Christmas eve hamper with pj's, tooth brush etc. When she gets home we'll have a picnic type tea then bath and new pj's then a Christmas film, might sprinkle some 'reindeer food' over the garden to make sure they can find us! Once she's in bed I'll do last bits of wrapping with a glass of cider, hopefully my mum won't be working and we can spend it together. All of the above is of course for me rather than dd because she'll only be 22 months Smile

Don't forget to leave a glass of gin milk and mince pie for Santa!

I love Christmas Eve! I've always done all shopping and present dropping off. Dd and I go into town and sit and have a hot chocolate, we never shop but dd loves sitting and looking at the decorations.
Then home, the Christmas fairy comes about 3 ish and leaves a gift bag with pj's, DVD, something crafty and sweets. Then bath, film, Chinese for tea and bed for dd and wine for me!

Last year I started doing hampers for my kids. I thought it was a great way to give them something from me instead of everything coming from Santa. In them, they had a new pair of pyjamas, a teddy, a DVD to watch together, hot chocolate, popcorn, and sweets.

We then got all cosy in our new pyjamas and watched the films and scoffed the treats.
