M&S Christmas Food Ordering Thread 2014

For those of you not aware, the christmas food catalogue from M&S comes out next Thursday 9th October 2014 and also goes live on their website then too.

They are doing an early bird again whereby if you place your order before 10th November and if it exceeds 70 (gone up quite a bit this year) then you can choose between Gold Label Chardonnay (75cl) or Gold Label Cabernet Sauvignon (75cl) - While stocks last; substitute available. Wine will be received.

I'm assuming the substitute will be a box of chocolates.

Dates for last orders:

  • Christmas - 15th December 2014
  • New Year 20th December 2014

I can't wait to get my order in.

yeah thats the list I was going off of. So I compared the turkeys :)

Will see how I feel tomorrow. I tend to make the sides and veg just want to see that the starters and stuffings are like this year. Will be the deal breaker I think if M&S has some tasty subs than I will grab my order from them. Never ordered waitrose before so don't really know how quick they are for pickup.

photographerlady · 08/10/2014 16:58

Although I am tempted by that Traditionally dressed bad boy :)

TweedAddict · 08/10/2014 17:01

When can you order?
And please can someone remind me I have a slow cooker at Christmas, best way to cook the Turkey but forgot last year and tried to cook everything in the oven

photographerlady · 08/10/2014 17:23

Ordering kicks off tomorrow :)

currieaddict · 08/10/2014 19:03

I am trying not to use marks this year and stick with our local sainsburys but it is tiny and no guarantee on what you can get.

mummytowillow · 08/10/2014 19:15

I love M&S and usually get the saver menu so everything is included.

Roasties IMO are poor and don't crisp up, they need more oil I think.

Opera dessert was amazing as was the passion fruit mousse yum!

Lochmuir salmon and prawn thing was also delicious.

mumtoone1 · 08/10/2014 19:28

My local had the books in today but wouldn't give me one ...

Please could someone tell me if I will be able to amend my order once placing it at 9:35 tomorrow of if I have to make sure that is my final order.

mumtoone1 · 08/10/2014 21:25

You can amend it up to middle of December

SpottyTeacakes · 09/10/2014 05:05

I just had a look and it let me look at the turkey's but nothing else. I don't like turkey.

photographerlady · 09/10/2014 06:10

Morning! Asked DH what sides he wants and he said Ham. Grin geesh. Going to sneak my order in before my morning meetings at work I think. Happy turkey day all

mumtoone1 · 09/10/2014 06:45

The website is saying available from 9.30 Spotty

Does anyone know whether you can use giftcards to pay online, if you're not using the full amount on the card? I've never really ordered anything from M&S, either Food or Non-Food goods... I usually just go in!

TrisisFour · 09/10/2014 08:00

If you can't, can you do a Xmas Food order in-store? I'm assuming so, probably a silly question...

mumtoone1 · 09/10/2014 08:14

Hi Trisis. You can't pay with gift cards for your Xmas food order online you can online however. What you could do is pay £20 deposit online using a card and pay the balance with gift cards on collection or yes simply pay all in store at the food ordering desk in vouchers. I pay completely with vouchers so just give my order in store

mumtoone1 · 09/10/2014 08:14

I meant you can in store*

Looks like they've started loading the website, but the menu is still connected to nothing. You can see some of the pages by starting at christmasfood.marksandspencer.com/listing/mains/ and following links.

worm77daisy · 09/10/2014 09:43

Ordered picking up at 6:00 on Christmas Eve, just for info you have to make changes on the phone once ordered you can't change online.

chickenfajitaswithnachos · 09/10/2014 09:48

I have just ordered the Christmas dinner with cheese board, the snowman cake and the contemporary buffet pack. We always have a buffet Christmas eve.
This is the third year I have had the dinner selection and it works out very well for our family, no waste, very tasty and extremely easy.

photographerlady · 09/10/2014 09:53

I ordered mine at 9am :P

TrisisFour · 09/10/2014 09:56

Well, I've had a good look and I think I will definitely go in store as I don't necessarily want all of the various bits in the collections. Definitely going to get some veg bits, party food and desserts though.

photographerlady · 09/10/2014 09:59

Went for the turkey, ham and stuffing balls &pigs in blanket this year. Not sure if I will be tempted by anything else but the trifle looks nice
