so far I've got:

  • little box set of mr men books
  • bath crayons
  • wooden frog harmonica
  • little puzzle
  • gruffalo pants

All impulse purchases in sainsburys or Wilkinson. There will also be a Matey bubble bath (always featured in our childhood), magic flannel, colouring book, hat (he loves a hat) and some little toys like cars. And Christmas chocolate!
Mine only turned two this week and it was the first time he got the hang of opening presents or understood there were exciting things for him inside, it's made me more excited for Christmas now! He's going to love it Grin

BirdingWidow · 02/10/2014 20:56

Snap Suz, my DS turned 2 last week too! He also 'got' presents for the first time once he stopped assuming optimistically that anything wrapped up was going to be a cake .

My list is similar but includes one of the wooden Thomas trains that fits on brio track - they are pricey but he prizes the two he has got above all other treasures Grin. Also have some Christmas finger puppets. Otherwise will also do bubble bath, toothbrush, choc Santa. I think he would love a torch if I can find one that does not look as though he might be able to eat the batteries. Pens will also go down well.

My DS is obsessed with mine and DH's watches, any ideas on where to find a watch for a 2 year old? TIA

Curly drinking straws
Those polystyrene plane thingies
Coloured bubble bath
Little wind up figures

WhatAHooHa · 03/10/2014 04:48

Birding I can't link from my phone, but do a google for Kids Animal Dynamo Torch for your DS.My 2 year old has one and they're indestructible! Can't get the batteries out, squeeze to recharge it so it never dies, and takes a serious battering from him.

MyNameIsSuz · 03/10/2014 06:25

Cheshcat, what is it your ds likes about watches? If it's not the numbers he's fussed about, we were given one of those little plastic eggs out of the toy machine in the entrance to the supermarket and my boy loves the watch that came inside. No actual clock face just a picture of a Disney plane which projects onto stuff when you turn it on. Would something like that work?

cheshcat · 03/10/2014 17:54

Great idea suz Smile I don't think he would mind if it didn't tell the time properly he just wants to be like mummy and daddy

A magazine.
A bath toy
Satsuma
Chocolate buttons
Something silly and Christmassy like a wind up Santa

fishfingerSarnies · 03/10/2014 20:36

The £1 shop is good for stocking fillers.
Our one has loads of arts and crafty bits.
Disgusting sparkly head bands etc for dressing up.
And peppa pig tissues
Which I will be filling my dds stocking with, sure they will have things to appeal to boys too.

BirdingWidow · 03/10/2014 22:53

Thanks HooHa, that looks great!
