Where do you all hang the stockings?

We used to have an open bannister in our old house but here there's nothing/nowhere to display them Sad

There's a fire but no surround so can't use that.

(it's a new build so no features I could make use of).

Any ideas?

I never get a stocking Sad ...always do them for dp and the girls though. Maybe I should do myself one as well...now what to put in it? Grin

Lucy'sMam - my daughter always does one for me now (she's been an adult for a couple of years) Your daughters will too, I'm sure! Just wait patiently - it will happen Smile

on the knobs of our welsh dresser. i miss not having a fire and fire place. or on bedroom door or in bed

Still on ends of beds, with a sprinkle of fairy glitter (even though they're grown up) Hmm
Sometimes, nowadays, the stockings have to go on the end of the bed before they come in from the pub, because Father Christmas is too tired to wait any longer Shock Grin

Ours go up with the rest of the decorations around 8/9/10 December. I hang them off the Expedit with ribbon (convoluted, but very pretty). DS is still small, so I wouldn't leave it on his bed and, besides, he'd be more likely to play with the "big sock" than anything inside! As he gets older we will leave it on the bottom of his bed - I, too, have fond memories of the weight on my feet at that moment you wake up before you realise it's Christmas!

DH and I have stockings but don't put anything special in, just gifts that are small enough. For example, if he bought me a watch and a pair of boots, the watch would go in the stocking because it's small. We may add posh chocolates or something silly like a pack of plectrums, but we don't go all out.
