Charities with children's memberships?

Any nice clubs around for my 7yo?

Last Xmas we got a Storm Force (RNLI) membership for DD which she loved. Thought it might be nice to do something similar each year as it's a nice way of learning about different charities' work.

Any suggestions please? :)

DD1 has RSPB membership. Easy to get a bird feeder as well.

Wildlife trust. You can do a family membership - kids get a magazine. You are also invited to participate in local activities if you want. Some are extra ( not expensive) & some are free. You can also find out & learn about wildlife in your local area.

Those both sound great thanks!

We have a 5yo (very young 5 though) so could include him in it too if not waiting til he's a bit bigger :)

My daughter has PDSA membership and she gets a magazine every couple of months and also a pencil case, badge & poster when she joined.
She loves the magazine - all animal stories and fundraising ideas.

Sponsor a guide dog puppy?

fuzzpig · 30/09/2014 22:51

These are all fab ideas thanks :) something animal related is sure to be a hit. We are always looking up this bird and that creepy crawly (the latter quite reluctantly on my part Blush) so anything nature related is great.

I didn't even know you could sponsor a guide dog, that's amazing!

I think this year we will probably have to go with whichever is cheapest, but I'm going to bookmark all the rest for future years :)

Woodland Trust - they send a wallchart, leave identification booklet, posters etc plus a few magazines, weekly emails with suggestions for fun things to do outside and a link to the sticker to put on the wallchart and downloads.

Second RSPB children's membership. It's very good.

Also Woodland Trust, Nature Detectives is also very good. Plus you sign up to a weekly members email with an activity or task.
