My goddaughter (going to be 7 at Christmas) has started collecting ornaments - she has a shelf in her bedroom filled with the most hideous charming charity shop finds.
I would like to buy her an ornament for her gift this year but don't know where to start looking, any suggestions? I remember my sister collecting small animals (i think they might have been bears) doing human things in the early 90's kind of like this

I'm a collecter of ugly Hummel figurines- u can pick them up for anything between £5-£40. I think they are ugly and beautiful- Dh thinks they are just ugly. She might also like a Russian doll? Good luck!

A Russian doll is a fab idea! I will investigate Hummel figures, thanks.

H. Samuel etc do lots of new ornaments too- also think there are brambly hedge figurines which are quite sweet- think you'd only find them online.

eBay might be your friend here! Does she like Beatrix Potter stuff? You can get lots of a Royal Doulton Beatrix Potter ornaments on there, which are quite collectable, and cute. They are all their money, though!
I was always an ornament lover as a child, and still am really, though dh (who has taste) tries to limit my hideous collections. To be honest, I think charity shops and car boots are a great place to source ornaments!
For something better/shinier, craft places, if you have one near you. Glass-blowing places tend to do nice little animals, in my (tasteless) opinion.
