Decopatch

Does any one do this/know about it. I think my 8 year old would love it, she always looks at it in JL (but refuses to spend her pocket money so has only ever looked at it!).

Two questions really, is there anywhere better to buy it from and how many different glues and varnishes do you actually need to get going?

I've done a few things with my children and they all loved it (age from 3 to 7). I only have one pot of glue (glossy glue) as it's so expensive. We've had the same pot for years though and not even half way through it yet.
The range usually have little bits to cover fairly cheaply (little pots/letters etc). And I bought a load of papers online because you get a better range. They are not cheap but as an alternative you can apparently use ripped up paper napkins if you get a pack of nicely patterned ones.

Ooh me and dd love decopatch - is v theraputic,.and fool proof too. However you tear, you still get a pretty pattern. You could get a paintbrush, a pot of varnish glue, a pack of papers and a brown card animal to cover from Hobbycraft. That's all you need to get going.

Crafty Crocodiles have lots of Decopatch stuff. They do some fantastic things for crafty present with kids.

Thanks all, Crafty Crocodiles looks great. I will buy glossy glue.

Me and both my dd's love this! (3 and 8) We just use standard pva glue and it dries lovely and glossy, no need for the expensive decopatch version. (I was advised this by the sales assistant in hobbycraft) Amazon do the cardboard letters and boxes in the shape of letters (handy for storing those bloody shopkins!) for about £2-£3. Have fun!

That sounds good Snowman - do you water it down or use it full strength?

We do loads of deco patch. It's so simple and the results are great whatever happens - my dds both have SN, and this is something they can manage easily.

I have used www.thedecopatchplace.co.uk quite a bit - nice range of objects/letters and papers.

Will take a look at crafty crocodiles, thanks Smile

We use it full strength. I have read on the web that you can water it down too but we use it straight out the bottle and find it works perfect for us.
