What to buy teenagers that have everything?

I realise this is a little early but i don't want to leave it too late and end up with no ideas.

I have a 1yo, 4yo, 14yo, 15yo and 16yo. Me and DH usually buy a couple of big presents and then a lot of small stoking fillers and a new pair of pi's for all the boys. We were thinking of ideas for the big presents this year and realised we don't have a clue what to get the teenagers. They have about every gadget going that they actually want (iPads, iPods, xbox, blu ray player, laptops, phones ect) so they don't need any of them. The older two both play sports but don't need any equipment or anything for them as they have plenty. They have access to their own money so presents like xbox vouchers and cinema vouchers would kind of be pointless.

The 14yo likes art and we found a great present for him (a custom made sketchbook/journal) but his birthday is christmas day and that is going to be a birthday present so we are back to square one.

So basically i'm really stuck and starting to panic already and its only september!

Experience vouchers? Driving, intro to scuba diving, indoor sky diving, etc. Usually lots of offers on Groupon.

My 13 year old had a driving lesson with Young Drivers. It's a company that offers driving lessons to 11-17 year olds. He knows how to put a car into first, second, steer and reverse a manual car.

Thank you! Thats a fab idea. My 15yo did a sky diving thing last year and loved it

Not sure why me and DH didn't think of it Blush

Will look in to the driving things as well, thanks. I thought my younger two might be a bit young but obviously not.

How about making one of their gifts a charity one? We do, instead of a card that cost a couple of quid you can donate 5 pounds to Oxfam or Christian aid etc towards a child's education or clean water.
Just a thought for the kids what have everything.

We did a driving experience for ds1 [16] last year too. It was a Mercedes day young driver type thing. I put the voucher in the box of a remote control car with flashy lights and sounds for a bit of fun and something else to unwrap.

He absolutely loved it and it was a good taster day. This year I think he will probably be getting a few real driving lessons, not so much of a dilemma!

My DSD has everything so we're probably going to get her a few small presents to open and give her some money to buy some new clothes with. I'll probably get her a new purse and put the money in and we'll go shopping over the holidays so she can get some new clothes or she'd just waste it on rubbish and sweets.

Guitars/other instruments and/or lessons?

Dd1 aged 15 got a term of sailing on Saturdays for her birthday, it's an expensive activity that we couldn't have afforded for her to just do, so she asked for that as her main present. Still a bit expensive actually! entitled little madam

someone mentioned on another thread a game capture which is for them to upload their xbox game playing to youtube etc. I am stealing that idea for ds2

I8toys · 13/09/2014 14:47

That game capture idea is a brill one - stealing. They are always watching swampy/balistic squid.
