Just that really, I need to start getting little bits, & be a bit more organised than last year!

My youngest is 3. Eldest 4

I try and give usual stuff and needed stuff in stockings so not a waste of money or space!

Last year I got ds1:

  • pjs ( with polar bears on) - needed
  • new winter mittens ( needed)
  • bubbles
  • small Lindt reindeer
  • drawing pencil set
  • tub playdough
  • small mr men book
  • an orange

So some things to eat, some things used and out the way ( bubbles), things to wear ( would have had to buy anyway), and something to use that day ( craft bits).

This year they will both get lights for scooters ( to scoot home from school in dark), and probably a watch for both as learning to tell time. No idea about the rest.

Oh and the one thing dd asked Father Christmas for: a hello kitty hairbrush Grin

I have dd who will be nearly 3 at Christmas, and am planning on doing her a stocking for the first time - lovely ideas here. So far I have got:
Wooden castanets for her instrument box (pound off eBay)
Cheap bath toys off eBay (including a wind-up frog and a dolphin which lights up)
Nice stickers (2 sheets for a pound of good metallic ones in Poundland at the moment, with a massive range of themes - I've gone for trains and dinosaurs as she loves both)
Mini Peppa magic painting book (where you paint with water and colours come up)
Cheetah glove puppet (again, about a pound on eBay).

Will get one of those tubes of chocolate buttons nearer the time, and am also toying with the idea do a DVD of Frozen for her to watch Christmas afternoon/early evening after our walk - she's already seen it at her godparents' house, to my surprise, and was very taken with it, but I need to work out if it is too scary for her age group (though as she has seen it and is fine I guess not), and also how I feel about Disney princesses generally (although my friend assures me these ones are good role models).

Last year I got, miniature panpipes off amazon - don't do it. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea, unfortunately they broke after a few minuets and we had to send them back to Father Christmas to be fixed.
We put in marbles and a kaleidoscope, chocolate money - obvs, balloon cars and helicopters and an orange.

I always put a torch in. My kids love getting a torch!

A wee purse or wallet with a shiny £2 coin in.

Toothbrush and toothpaste.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 05/09/2014 19:27

A torch is a lovely idea, and walkie talkies. The bonus of having twins is having someone to play with your walkie talkie with you.

Fantastic ideas so far, thank you! Smile
