Jellysnakes I've never used vivitar camcorders but I know their cameras are pretty useless - although they are cheap, they aren't really worth it as the results are just a mess so what's the point of taking the pictures if you can't use them...

However these days you can usually get really quite good cameras from decent manufacturers (canon, nikon, samsung, sony, panasonic, fuji etc) that also have decent video recording on them too. And in the run up to christmas they often have ones that are about £100 reduced to half that or even more - and you'll get great photos and film clips from them.

Last year on the Amazon black friday week bargains there were lots of nice cameras that should have been £150 down to about £50, definitely worth scoping out!

Alternatively if you can't wait that long, look around now as shops are clearing older models ready for the new christmas stock and you could get some great bargains. The argos outlet on ebay or the amazon refurbished section are great places to pick up good bargains if you want a camera too.

lauriebear - I just tend to borrow a bit of wire from dh's tool kit. Some is garden wire, other is fuse wire, some bits are those bits of plastic covered wire that hold toys tightly onto its cardboard packaging...

Probably not the wire that should be used for crafting! I know my mum used to have some good wires that she used for creating flower decorations. I bet ebay would have all sorts of crafty wire if you don't want to venture down to Homebase!!

RubyFlint · 09/09/2014 23:31

Not sure if these have been 4 stackable snowman crayons amazon £1.30 free delivery

admiralclingus · 09/09/2014 23:32

jellysnakes to add to what zipzap said, boots are no longervselling cameras in store, so have clearanced all of the stock they have left. I know last time I was in some of our £200+ cameras had been reduced by 50-75%, so if you havevca large boots local it might be worth popping in

cabster · 09/09/2014 23:52

Thank you for the Asda kitchen about 14 pages back! Just the thing for DD :)

parentallyinept · 10/09/2014 02:04

Ruby, I got those snowman crayons on recommendation from someone on here - they arrived today, and they are lovely! Well worth the £1.30Smile and only took 2 weeks from order to delivery

Methenyouplus4 · 10/09/2014 06:23

It was a few pages back but just to let the person know who asked that I got the free Joules tea towel from the Joules eBay, it was probably the fifth time I'd ordered from them (though some orders were just, for example, £4 pair of gloves for ds). X

3pigsinblanketsandasausagerole · 10/09/2014 06:37

Hmmm think I might not pick up the camcorder now after reading reviews

WildFlowersAttractBees · 10/09/2014 08:41

Just did a Joules outlet order... am I the only person who smirks at the boxer shorts names? Blush

wantacatplease · 10/09/2014 09:03

Back from holiday, now ready to spend save! Grin Off to read back and put things I never knew I needed on my wishlists. Tassimo machine, you say??

TheFantasticMrsFox · 10/09/2014 09:14

Arf at wildflowers :o
Incidentally DH has several pairs of those boxers as "Weekend Pants" and they are incredibly good quality though perhaps not really worthy of £15 a pair
I have a couple pairs stashed away in my present box as at £5 in the sales they are almost what we pay for M&S trunks :)

Elvish · 10/09/2014 10:05

If anyone sees a good deal on a play vacuum for DS who is 19mths could you let me know please? Or any recommendations on ones to go for or avoid? Are the Dyson's worth it?
thanks!

WildFlowersAttractBees · 10/09/2014 10:37

Weekend pants... that is a new one on me!

I just received my plain lay backpack and it is the wrong one Sad. They sent the black and I ordered the green. Have emailed the seller.

PumpkinsMummy · 10/09/2014 10:54

you are welcome Ruby they are really cute.

Methenyouplus4 · 10/09/2014 11:52

Ah yeah, I'm after a vacuum too. I know there was one for £5 from argos but didn't get great reviews, apparently really noisy and didn't stand up well. X

zipzap · 10/09/2014 11:56

If anyone's looking for a gift for a difficult person who travels lots how about a personalised luggage strap to go around their suitcase so it's more easily identifiable.

Studio have them at the moment for £5 instead of £12 - and if you spend more than £20 and put in the code 014 you get 10% off and free postage.

I haven't bought from them before but I know others on this thread have mentioned Studio previously.

The other advantage is that if you have a mil or whoever that likes to regift whatever you give them - if you put her name onto it then unless she knows someone with the exact same name she is stuck with the present [evil laughing smiley]

wantacatplease · 10/09/2014 12:03

I like the way you think, zipzap! Grin I have a shabby-chic/Cath Kidstone/nautical theme obsessed SIL...any ideas? I'm thinking about maybe just doing a hamper thing for her and BIL and then a gift each for their dcs. I bought the nautical bracelet for SIL way back on Thread 1 and although lovely, I think it looks a little cheap so I've kept it to put around a jar at home.

Iamblossom · 10/09/2014 12:21

ooh thanks ZipZap. I have already bought from Studio in the past so didn't qualify for the 10% off or free delivery but still a bargain, bought 5 for £29 delivered.

admiralclingus · 10/09/2014 12:59

I received my elf on the shelf dolls this morning and am so pleased with them

I ordered two from here and although they've gone up about a pound since I ordered they're still a really good buy. Going to give one to my friends daughter and one to my dad. The seller also sent a free minion keyring "with love" which I thought was sweet!

mamapants · 10/09/2014 13:00

I'm hoping it doesn't take up too much space in our kitchen Notso.
Anyone got a code for Jojo? Am after a mini micro scooter for DS1.
Or did someone order one cheaper from europe??

BabyAsleepAtLast · 10/09/2014 13:14

Thank you whoevet posted about the ftozen tatoos (sorry can't remember who it was). Really impressed with the seller, ordered them yesterday afternoon and arrived this morning! Free delivery too :)

elvish and anyone else looking for toy vacuums - I can't recommend any but I will advise steering clear of the henry hoover. It's so flimsy for the price. The lid falls off, the tubes fall apart, it's difficult to use, the 'wire' isn't long enough... just not worth the money at all imo.

Pannalash · 10/09/2014 13:15

Hi, JellySnakesLadderedTights, it was me that spotted the camcorders offer and someone else kindly linked. I'm getting them for my children - don't know what they'll be like, but for that price they're probably not going to be spectacular, but will be fine for what they want them for. Some of the reviews on Amazon are fine.

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 10/09/2014 13:18

CVL42 for 10% off at jojomamambebe

kiwidreamer · 10/09/2014 13:25

I'm sure we had this discussion last year but Boden have sent out £10 off vouchers again + 15% off and Free Delivery, I received mine a couple of days ago in a plain red envelope - thought it worth mentioning as previously the voucher has been included in the catalogue but often the codes were missing / wrong so now it looks like they are doing a special mail drop :)

kiwidreamer · 10/09/2014 13:27

I think jojomamambebe exclude scooters from their discount codes
