"So what's the entertainment after Xmas lunch?"

Erm...I have to entertain people too!?!?!?
We are having 9 people for dinner, I thought of going for a walk after lunch but only if it's not raining but not sure everyone will go anyway.

So then I thought about a quiz (with prizes) but that's been pooh-poohed too so what can we do? Board games?
The ages of everyone is 3, 8, 33, 45, 62, 63, 70, 75 and 79! They're all fun n game for anything but I'm struggling! X

I think I invented that game! We call it 'mean christmas' as there are always some good presents and some dreadful ones. It really is fun.

I played it first in Budapest with a group of friends. We just did nice presents though!

CiderwithBuda · 31/08/2014 14:51

Oh - did a variation of it with Xmas baubles one year at another friends. That was fun too.

We used to have a whist drive, agree 'Articulate' is a great game for all ages.

Definately get everyone out and about for a walk if at all possible.

In our house, the most energetic we get after dinner is lifting our arms to pass the box of Roses around whilst we watch the Santa Clause.

Beetle drive is easy for all ages too

So many fab ideas! I'm going to have a trawl around the charity shops for pictionary and some of the board games mentioned here, love mugglewitch and her idea for TV theme tune and songs bingo and the present dipping game.

Thank you so much, hope this has helped someone else too.

Thank you CaramelKate for the present/dice game. I read it on here a couple of years ago and it was a huge hit for us and has now become a firm tradition at Christmas for us. My kids (teenagers) would be gutted if we didn't do it now.
I love looking for the presents to wrap - you really can get some truly awful thing in pound shops!

Last Christmas our crackers came with a quiz and a game of Charades in them.

DH and I were quite drunk by this time and possibly have never laughed as much as we did while playing Charades. Twas brilliant and we'd never have thought of it by ourselves.

We've done different things over the years. Quiz, mr&mrs, charades etc. A great one we had was a horse racing dvd game, the older men (usually hardest to enthuse) loved it and we all made lots of bets with our fake money.
