Mature 11 dss

Dss is quite a mature 11 year old hasn't played with toys for years.
He enjoys his xbox and reading the reading side and xbox side of things I can easily buy but it's what else to get him.
He's not interested in things to do with the books characters etc.
it makes it harder than we don't ever know what his mum is buying him even though apart from xbox games everything stays here that we buy.

Any help appreciated.

Other "successes" for me have been gift cards- cinema, Starbucks, Amazon or tickets to an event he would like for example www.gadgetshowlive.net

"Young Driver Lessons" he needs to be 11+yo and 5' tall.
They cost ~ £30 for half hour (which is long enough) they offer discounts for future lessons.
Even one or two will be an experience (my 14.6 DS has had four lessons, DD has had two)

YY cinema (especially if you get one of the 'VIP 3D comfy chair and nachos 'tickets)

Gift voucher for clothes shopping (my DS isn't a clothes type but DD would relish Superdry, Joe Bloggs, American Apparell )

The smelleys idea is a good one
Unfortunately dss is tiny still in 8 yr old clothes so the driving and clothes vouchers aren't an option unfortunately.

Could you book a trip somewhere special? London with a trip to the theatre?

In an ideal world a London trip would be amazing but on the weekends we have him we also have football/swimming and youth club school holidays we never know till the week what is what unfortunately.
The older he gets the harder it is to buy for.
We've agreed on a new tv for him so would like to spend another £100 on bits and then a game and books.

How about a subscription to a magazine? It's the gift that keeps giving y'know.
