The Works have some good stuff left in their summer sale, plus Quidco are offering 21% (I think) cash back but only for a few more days.

I need some help though bargain hunters :) My DTs will be 3 at the end of October, I was thinking about getting them either a Leappad Ultra each or the Vtech version (Innotab is it?) for Christmas, mainly so that I can have my iPad back. Is either of those better than the other or does it not really matter? Is 3 about the right age for the games or should I wait another year?

JerseySpud · 15/07/2014 18:04

dd2 is just turned 3 and she has a leappad 2 and confidently plays her doc mcstuffins game

Just back from Home Bargains - they had lots of stocking filler type gifts. Littlest Pet Shop characters 99p, toothbrushes with built in light/timer 89p, set of 3 stamps and ink pad 89p, colour in pencil case £1.99, angelina ballerina books 69p, disney princess cups and cutlery sets 99p.

chestnut100 · 15/07/2014 20:09

Jessesgirl; I bought my 3 year old the innotab for the same reasons. She is absolutely unimpressed by it in comparison to the iPad I'm afraid and isn't so keen on playing on it. Lots of the games cartridges are too difficult, and actually the iPad apps are much better and age appropriate. As a compromise I got her a tescos hudl. Waited for points to be doubled up and got it for virtually nothing. It has been a much, much better purchase

daddykyller · 15/07/2014 20:36

Cool Balloon Helicopter Toy

Just 85p delivered.

Another stocking filler sorted :)

DD is desperate for a DS? Nintendo not brother.
I'm not technical at all
She will be 5.5 at Christmas
Is this likely to be something she will play with a lot? Worth the money?
Any bargains out there?

JustWannaDance · 16/07/2014 06:20

Grin @ Nintendo not brother. That made me smile.

Mipe · 16/07/2014 08:11

My DD is 8 and still loves her DS (Nintendo :) )!

BeanyIsPregnant · 16/07/2014 08:47

Has anyone bought that cook like a man cookbook? Is it actually a good cook book or just a bit gimmicky? I can't really tell from the reviews and stuff online!

cook like a man
Only £2.99 ATM, 70% of rrp

Redefined · 16/07/2014 09:39

Shamelessly place marking ...... and really needing 'big' present ideas for 2 year old grandson.

TheOnlyPink · 16/07/2014 10:12

redefined my Ds2 was just 2 for last Christmas. We got him the playmobil 123 fire station. It has been played with every single day. At first it was just the fire engine and the man, but now at 2.5 it is a very elaborate game using all the pieces. My Ds1 is 6.5 and loves it too, so will last.

I got it on a recommendation from here and highly recommended it too! Out of all the presents he got, this was definitely a favourite. Hope that helps a bit!

I am not normally stumped, but he does have a fair bit of stuff already.
Couldn't agree more about the play kitchen...... he absolutely loves his.

WaitMonkey · 16/07/2014 11:53

Anyone got a Next VIP slot today ? Hope I manage to get some clothes for next summer.

wigglesrock · 16/07/2014 13:28

The Ever After High dolls are reduced to 13.99 ish on Amazon at the minute. My 6 year old and her class mates are very into this now and I've a funny feeling they might be a "big thing" soon. They were cheaper a few days ago, I got one for 9.99.

whitepuddingsupper · 16/07/2014 16:35

1st jcb remote control down from £19.99-7.99 at argos.

MooseyMoo · 16/07/2014 17:13

WaitMonkey Yes, have but at 7pm. I've got a list of items but I doubt most of it will be left by the time I get on

I saw in the 99p store loom bands with Frozen branding. Looked like two different colour options

andadietcoke · 16/07/2014 17:16

My Next slot is at 6. I've done my list of clothes but as it's all baby stuff there may well not be much left by then. Hadn't even thought about looking at stuff for me. I've changed!

ChristmasYoni · 16/07/2014 17:24

I've been looking at the ikea kitchen for Ds, am I right in thinking it went on sale near christmas last year?

wigglesrock · 16/07/2014 17:26

It gets reduced to around 65 about October/Halloween but then up to its normal price in December . It is singled handedly the best present we have ever bought. We bought it for dd3s third birthday but her older sisters, friends, my mum Smile all love it.

babycakes76 · 16/07/2014 17:26

Thanks bouquetofpencils, I got loads of bits from dotcomgiftshop!

RhinosAreFatUnicorns · 16/07/2014 17:32

Just finished my vip next shopping. There's loads of stuff left - although some popular bits went out of stock as I was shopping. Checked out 4 times in 17 minutes!!
