I have 3 DC aged 4, 3 and 2. Last year was just ridiculous. I went way too mental and bought too much expecting family wouldn't get them many presents because usually they just get vouchers or money but family obviously decided to go mental with presents too... I felt really bad actually because I want to Christmas to be about the spirit as opposed to presents and there must have been 100 presents easy. Plus the fact that those very presents are now all either broken, parts are lost or they aren't even played with so utterly pointless and major waste of money and resources.
So this year I'm being sensible. They have all asked for one thing that they really want, that's all they ask for. Ds wants a big dinosaur, DD1 wants a dolly and DD2 wants a fire engine. So that's their want. Getting a few books as usual, Disney DVDs because the eldest is just starting to get into movies. Couple of board games mainly for eldest two. The usual 'special outfit'- every year I get them a naice outfit that costs way more than I'd usually ever spend on one piece of clothing I.e Wild Things pinafore dress. The Bambi Heico lamp for their bedroom, duvet cover, new towels, underwear.
Then their usual stockings with cutlery, plates, bowls, toothbrush, chocolate Santa, bubble bath and wash mitt. Christmas Eve stocking is new white company checked pjs, teddy bear, chocolate coins, slippers and socks.
And on 1st December EOTS brings new christmas books to add to their collection, christmas pjs, christmas colouring book, the snowman plush and christmas duvets.
They're young, the only thing they really want is that one thing each of them always ask for. The rest is just useful things for them really. Plus family may go crazy again... They got garden toys (sandpit etc) for birthdays.
