Brilliant day yesterday but my toddler has turned into a head-spinning monster today!

Any one else feel my pain?

DD was so good yesterday. She is only 2 and a half so it was her first proper Christmas. We went to pils in the morning and DM&DF's in the afternoon. She coped brilliantly, there were lots of people at both houses, everyone was demanding her attention, she was utterly spoiled with gifts, but seemed to take it all in her stride. Even I felt overwhelmed but DD was a star. Until today. She has deliberately wet herself twice after refusing to go to the toilet, and screaming 'no' at the top of her voice seems to be the phrase of the day! Im blaming the grandparents for spoiling her!

I think the pressure of being 'good' yesterday has got to her and she is releasing it all now. Had to take mine to the park this morning to let them run around and scream it off.

Good luck.

Similar here. We also went down the walk in the woods/park/fresh air route this morning but had a meltdown at nap time depsite this. Off to ILs now so no doubt will be anohter chaotic bedtime and late night. WIll try to keep tomorrow as 'normal' as possible I thnk.

My children are older than your toddler but we still don't visit people on Boxing Day due to the decline in behaviour. We've had tears twice today. I think it's just a bit overwhelming.

My DD is just a few months older and we used to get this but it's not so bad now. I think the change in routine throws them. I find some fresh air and exercise helps but then keep the day quiet with little stimulation.
I bet she had lots of sugar yesterday too- I know DD grazed all morning!

Glad to know in not alone! We limited the sweet stuff yesterday to try and avoid a meltdown. However, I do think she is a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff she has been given. She couldn't cope with a walk through the park today so we are doing dvds and cuddles.

My dd is 16 months old and we have had similar she was brilliant yesterday but I think the amount of people, toys, activity, food etc has got to her and she's pretty worn out and whingey. She is having an early bath, a light tea and some snuggles on the sofa before an early night tonight.

It's been great though. Her little face has been a picture Grin
