Oh, I'm just so excited for them it's ridiculous- my Ds2 is 4, and the first year he's really got into the FC vibe!

We've has a few changes over the past month, but pressies sorted, turkey ready to go, and I think I'm more excited for them to open their pressies than they are to get them!

My Ds1 is nearly 11. got a bit upset today because he hasn't got me a pressie, bless him! Told him, need a big cuddle, and a go on whatever game santa brings, which he laughed at, then said, 'alright muv, but I'll beat you at any game'!

Blessed x

Yep :)

lotsofcheese · 24/12/2013 19:51

Yes, feeling blessed.

5 years ago today, DS was very ill in NICU, having been born at 29 weeks; we didn't know if he'd make it through the night.

We've just finished watching his Portable North Pole Santa message.

DD is upstairs sleeping. She is our "last chance saloon" baby; I had her at 41.

Special times.

inadreamworld · 24/12/2013 19:53

Yes. I feel very very blessed to have two healthy girls, 11 months and 2.8. So lucky to have them - didn't have any problems having them and got pregnant really fast but they are still as much of a miracle to me as if I had waited ten years for a baby (like one of my friends has). Too young to really make the most of the Father Christmas vibe but next year DD1 will be old enough!

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight · 24/12/2013 19:56

Yep ?? ds2 is four I'm very lucky to have stretched kiddie Christmases over two decades of my life with dd1 and ds1 being nearly 20 and 16 respectively, dd2 is 3 months old so going to squeeze Christmas out for all its worth Grin

ThingsThatGoBumpInTheNight · 24/12/2013 19:57

Merry Christmas to you and your family OP
Smile

leonardofquirm · 24/12/2013 20:01

Yeah, I was so excited just wrapping the presents. :)

Scrooge DH has been asking me to stop mentioning Santa so much today and getting DS1 (4) so wound up. DS2 is only 1 but copies everything big bro does so it will be funny to see his reaction!

Touch wood they have stopped running around mad and seem to be settling ok.

I can't wait. :D

CantaSlaus · 24/12/2013 20:05

I am. Dd will be 9 months exactly tomorrow and she has a few lots of presents under the tree!

She is such a fabulous little girl so funny and I'm so pleased she's mine!

Quodlibet · 24/12/2013 20:09

On Xmas eve last year our 12 wk scan revealed a MMC of our first pg. We drove to DP's parents pretty much straight from the hospital stunned and shocked and spent a horrible couple of days trying to come to terms with it all while a version of Xmas went on around us.

This year I am trying to wrap presents around the breastfeeding/nappy changing/cuddling and gazing demands of 10 day old DD and feeling very very blessed.

Onelittlebugbear · 24/12/2013 20:21

We've just got one ds so don't really feel a proper family. Bit depressed as been trying for dc2 for 16 months and now having to have ivf. The last two Christmases I'd hoped to be pregnant by the following christmas but now having to reconcile myself to the fact that it won't happen.

My period came today, merry christmas me.
Sorry, feel a bit sorry for myself. And have to spend Christmas Day with dh's new nephew listening to everyone tell me how awful it is that ds is an only child. .

inadreamworld · 24/12/2013 20:34

OneLittle Bug I am an only child and it isn't awful. Quite good most of the time but I did wish for a sibling. You ARE definitely a proper family (whatever that is). Good luck with getting preg with no 2. x

letsgotothebeach · 24/12/2013 20:41

Myself and dh spent 10 Christmases together as a couple, childless and hoping that there would be a miracle or that the ivf would work! Last year we adopted our ds who is 3 and at the moment tucked up in bed. This year has been the most magical Christmas ever and it hasnt even started properly yet. So feeling very blessed indeed!

ninjasquirrel · 24/12/2013 20:42

Onelittle, how horrible to say that to you (and speaking as an only child who was perfectly happy, thank you very much)

EeyoreIsh · 24/12/2013 20:42

letsgo that's so lovely, I hope to have an amazing Xmas

EeyoreIsh · 24/12/2013 20:43

you not to

SaltySeaBird · 24/12/2013 21:01

Two years ago I was still coming to terms with a miscarriage after fertility treatment. I was so miserable, I hated the happy familyness of Christmas and could barely bring myself to take part. My sister helped me pull myself together a bit and said she was saving all her Christmas wishes for me.

DD was conceived that Christmas Day and I feel blessed to have her not just Christmas Day but everyday.

We've been TTC #2 for 6 months but don't think we will be lucky to conceive naturally again. I was hoping for some more Christmas magic as period or BFP due tomorrow but I tested today and it was negative. But, whatever happens we are so, so lucky to have our beautiful, funny little daughter, it has made the whole run up to Christmas magical!

technicallychallenged · 24/12/2013 21:13

Finally got all 4 DCS to bed and I am so grateful for all of them.
My two eldest are my step DCs but it wouldn't be Christmas without them running around helping get their younger siblings excited.
Just waiting till they are definitely asleep to gather all the presents in the living room. Xmas Grin

mercibucket · 24/12/2013 21:16

yes. we feel blessed that they are happy and healthy

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 24/12/2013 21:26

I'm so excited to see my 11 and 5 year olds faces in the morning. I actually have butterflies in my stomach. Blush They are growing up so fast so I'm determined to prolong the Christmas magic as long as possible.

There are some wonderful and brave people on this thread. Merry Christmas to all of you. Flowers

neversleepagain · 24/12/2013 21:41

I am very thankful for my two healthy happy daughters. It is their first "proper" Christmas this year, last Christmas they were just 12 weeks old.

They don't get the whole unwrapping presents thing but I am still very excited for tomorrow morning :)

They do understand Santa though and DT1 points to her Santa pajamas, very sweet.

FestiveYoni · 24/12/2013 21:48

Incredibly blessed, so blessed. I never thought I would be able to have DC. Or even meet a wonderful man to have them with!

These will be without doubt the most precious years of my life...some wonderful memories being created to hark back to in my old age.

Paintingrainbowskies · 24/12/2013 22:07

So very blessed.

Our eldest daughter died four years ago and Christmas is hard without her, but, my younger daughter makes me smile so much and is so excited! She is my world.

Sorry, mixture of emotions and prosecco!!!

loflo · 24/12/2013 23:46

After nine years of marriage and no babies DH and I adopted DS who has been with us for nearly eight yearsSmile he's the best thing we ever did.

MadameDefarge · 24/12/2013 23:57

DS is, quite simply, the best thing I have ever ever done. I feel so utterly privileged to be his mother.

level3at6months · 25/12/2013 00:04

Yes, DS is a fantastic big boy. Would have loved a sibling for him but it wasn't to be. Feel very, very blessed with the gorgeous one we have.

TheOnlySevenSleighbells · 25/12/2013 00:15

Very blessed. DS(5)and DD1(2) were dancing together before bath time, it was such a lovely moment. He has an awful muscle wasting condition, I'm really going overboard this year as we won't have many more Christmases before he's in a wheelchair.
