Although to be fair, he did say "is there anything specific that you'd like"

Hmm

Mine has jus gone out (alone) muttering something about 'last bits and pieces'

I'm a bit miffed because I thought we'd agreed he'd force take the totally etiolated DC out for a quick blast of fresh air as it isn't actually raining at the moment.

I had been playing mind games with him, knowing this is what he'd do. Started asking him about 2 weeks ago if he'd got everything he needed. Lots of nodding and "absolutely". Asked him again yesterday - noticed a slight beading of sweat on his top lip, but was assured yes, everything was in place. I wonder what will be waiting for me under the tree tomorrow Grin Hmm

DH started on Saturday and has spent every day shopping up to today - he refuses to shop online.

meditrina · 24/12/2013 15:12

Well, Sir I suppose a lot depends on whether you live near a town/city with naice shops that won't be closing early. Or if it'll be something from the nearest BP shop a it's the only thing still going in a 20 mile radius.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/12/2013 15:14

This is the first year dh hasn't asked me what I want.

There is a large and rather squishy package under the tree. I'm concerned its clothing!

SirChenJin, did you not give him a pointer when he asked?

WorkingtoohardMama · 24/12/2013 15:14

Dh went last night and was looking for sympathy that he had to go shopping after he'd been at work all day - no sympathy from me; I don't know why he is always so unorganised, it's not like he doesn't know when Christmas is!

I wonder if I'll get green jeans and a cream jumper like I got for my birthday - and last Christmas!!

SirChenjin · 24/12/2013 15:22

I gave him a pointer a couple of months ago for a couple of little things that I really wanted (a CD and my ring fixed) - but hoped that he would use his initiative and get me one or 2 small extras. Did I hope for too much? Grin

WorkingtoohardMama - I agree, it's not as if Christmas is unexpected!

My DPs gone shopping all alone (something I dream of!) for the fourth time in the past 2 weeks.
So far he has bought himself a CD, a job lot of his favourite cider and a new hat for himself.
I'm not hopeful.

SirChenjin · 24/12/2013 15:43

Oh dear Rioja Sad Grin

One year all my birthday presents came from Tesco. I was an idiot though as I liked everything I just felt a bit like where is the effort. To be fair to DH though he works lots and when not there is looking after the kids so doesn't get a lot of time. If I am out and see small things I will pick it up and put it in a bag for him to wrap for me. Annoyed now as I have remembered a book I am getting. I like to forget things I have picked. I have guessed one present from DH but there are loads of surprises too.

Badvocatyuletide · 24/12/2013 15:49

Dh keeps wandering off and whispering with his dad....god knows what i will end up with...:)

clearsommespace · 24/12/2013 15:56

Rioja, fingers crossed those are red-herrings.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/12/2013 17:03

My DH buys me brilliant books - can't fault him on that.
But WRT the rest of my presents, I order from M&S or QVC.

SirChenjin I dithered about having my ring resized and sorted out (it had got a bit squished) but after going through all the local jewellers to get quotes I thought "Bum , get a new one and sell the old one"
(Old one has a better gold content so I'm thinking about selling it , but not Cash My Bling sort of selling)

RiojaHaze · 24/12/2013 18:25

Whispering is always a good sign isn't it??

He's come home very pleased with his purchase of today. A new coat for himself reduced to £50 from £100. Wink

3bunnies · 24/12/2013 19:08

My main Christmas present is fab because I bought it myself and even had a sneaky go on it (with permission) but not sure if he has realised yet that it is at home and we are 100miles away!
