My dd3 is just turned 3 , so this is the year Christmas excitement kicks in properly for her. I ve just made her poached eggs for dinner and she was jumping up and down asking "ooh is this my Christmas dinner" love how exciting everything seems at Christmas !

My DD is 3 and thought last nights storm was Father Christmas coming, so was disappointed at no presents.

Justyou · 24/12/2013 14:30

She did wake us all up at 6 am singing jingle bells so roll on tomorrow morning .... Maybe when Santa got stuck up the chimney .

Mine is only 20 months so doesn't really get it but she is in love with the Christmas tree and says hello and goodbye to it everyday. Also likes to just stand in front of it swinging the baubles. Don't know how she'll cope when we have to take it down.

My Ds2 just turned 4, so with you OP that this year the excitement ' is father Christmas here yet!? has really kicked in!

He's just pinched all the crimbo crackers from the tree and stashed in his room! Didn't notice until he came downstairs with a paper hat on, burst into the front room singing 'we wish you a merry Christmas'!

Joy!

With dd1 I hung all the chocs high up on tree when she was little, she used her toy sweeping brush reach up to knock them off - genius !

Yes, my eldest is 4 and this year the 'is father Christmas here yet!?' , 'he comes tonight!' excitement has really kicked in too. I love it!

I'll be so sad when they get too old for all the sillyness Sad so I'm going to really enjoy it whilst it lasts.

oopsadaisyme · 24/12/2013 14:59

Hopeless with you on that, my Ds1 is a bit older, but we are are so enjoying my DS2 being so excited, is fab!

HopelessCaseNumeroUno · 24/12/2013 15:03

Can't wait to put the carrot and mince pie out tonight Xmas Grin

I just love that they are at that age where they absolutely believe, they believe that FC is coming tonight with all of their hearts. It is just so lovely.

oopsadaisyme · 24/12/2013 15:28

Oh, Hopeless I'm with you !!

Got mince pies and Carrot for Rudolph ready for Ds2 to put out (although h e thinks FC should have a nice glass of OJ instead of a 'tipple'!)

(I also bought some white face paint to paint 'reindeer hooves' around the plate, and a little 'thank you' card to leave for Ds2 - we get into this don't we haha!! Love it x)

We leave snowy footprints for them to find in the morning, thanks to a template cut out of a cereal box of DHs boot print, some icing sugar and a sieve!!

My 4 year old is driving me mad.
I'm looking forward to the years when he gets drunk and won't get out if bed. He will not sit still. The weather is vile, I've taken him out to walk him twice and got drenched both times.

BlingBubbles · 24/12/2013 16:42

My DD is 2.6 years old and we spent the afternoon baking and making magic reindeer food, the poor thing doesn't quite grasp the fact that she won't see Santa and the reindeer, she keeps going outside and calling them and asking me when they are coming..... It's going to be a long night Smile

MrsSnail · 24/12/2013 16:45

DD is three and loving it this year. I did the personalised video from the portable North Pole app and shes told everyone ( including the postman and the tesco cashier) that shes talked to the real Santa :)

MamaBear17 · 24/12/2013 17:02

DD is 2 and a half and has loved every second so far this year. Seeing her little face when she discovered the box the elf has left was magical. She keeps telling her daddy that he needs to go to sleep or Santa won't come! Im so excited for tomorrow I keep getting all emotional!

oopsadaisyme · 24/12/2013 17:59

Okay, excitement all great, now, any tips on how to get Ds2 to bed and asleep???!!!!!!???

HopelessCaseNumeroUno · 24/12/2013 19:54

Mine are both in bed now, they are went past excited at about 6pm and by 7 we had to scrap them off the ceiling to get them to bed Xmas Grin

The mince pie and carrot are out. DH is in the attic finding all the hidden, wrapped presents and I'm going to have a glass of something.

I bloody love Christmas Xmas Grin

I think my 2 year old is a bit overwhelmed by it. Maybe we've been going on about it too much. She said 'no, stay here' when I mentioned or plans for tomorrow and broke down in tears when I produced her stocking to hang up.
