Santa brings all the presents on Christmas Eve. They know they are from us but he brings breakfast bars, new mugs, the clothes, pants and socks.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 15/12/2013 11:03

Yes I think your all right....my DD got upset when saw some presents there - just 4 for other family memebers and burst into tears....so I put a few down for her...too late to take them back now...so will just leave them and not add any more.

We give the dc's 3 presents which go under the tree before they go to bed Christmas Eve ( and they get to open one present which is pj's and a book for bed ), presents from family go under there at the same time and FC brings the rest ( a pile each ) plus a stocking ( big presents are downstairs ), tat goes in their stockings. We go a bit OTT Grin but they don't really get much from family ( a bit of money and a few selection boxes ).

Meglet · 15/12/2013 11:39

Once they're in bed on xmas eve. I don't trust them to not poke and unwrap then like I did as a kid.

kimlo · 15/12/2013 12:07

the only presents that come from me are the pajamas on Christmas eve everything else is from Santa.

Presents from family are given when we visit over Christmas. Under the tree now are the presents that are waiting to be given out to other people.

DebbieFiderer · 15/12/2013 12:09

They are there already, and my 5 and 3 year olds know not to touch them. Santa only brings stockings and one other present here, and they don't go under the tree.

VoldemortsNipple · 15/12/2013 12:09

We're trying out something new this year. Previously FC came in the middle of the night to put all the presents under the tree. This has carried on even though the youngest dc is 11.

I asked the dcs what they wanted to do this year, so here's the plan. Everybody will put their presents under the tree Christmas Eve morning to give us time to enjoy the present stash. Stockings will still be filled after the dcs are in bed to keep a bit of Christmas magic alive (for my benefit) We did talk about putting them under as and when wrapped, but it just felt wrong.

Kaekae · 15/12/2013 12:09

When I was a child all the presents from relatives/grandparents etc would go under the tree. My sister and I would love prodding them and would spend ages trying to guess what they were. My parents never give the children their presents until Christmas or afterwards so we can't do this. I wrap up PJs for the children and a colouring book or something small, stick them under the tree and they open these before a bath on Christmas Eve. I wrap a colouring book and pens because I feel it is a bit of a let down for children just to unwrap PJs! All other presents are placed by the tree on Christmas Eve once the childre are in bed.

AnneWentworth · 15/12/2013 12:14

That sounds like a lovely way to keep the magic. I remember when my dad used to give us the money to buy each other and my mum presents at the school bazaar and whatnot. It felt very special to put the presents under the tree.

Lilicat1013 · 15/12/2013 12:28

Until this year the presents have all gone under the tree as soon as they are wrapped. My son wouldn't touch them as he is autistic and didn't like to deal with wrapping paper.

This year it has all changed, after his birthday my son worked out that wrapping paper contains something good so would likely try to open the gifts and wouldn't understand why it would be naughty to.

I also have a ten month old baby would would destroy the presents. We recently gave a gift to his Great-Grandmother and he went nuts trying to get the ribbon on it. That was just one gift, I would never be able to keep him away from a whole pile under the tree.

So this year they are all magically appearing after the children go to bed on Christmas Eve.

EustaciaVye · 15/12/2013 12:28

Presents from us and family under the tree now.
Gifts from FC appear on the night.

GuernseyTeddy · 15/12/2013 12:44

They're all under there now. Have been putting them under the tree as I wrap them. But DS is only four months old, and DSD is ten - and past believing in Santa.

When DS is old enough to understand, I will do the same as my parents did: not put out until after DS is in bed on Christmas Eve. Would be quite tempted to do after lunch civilised unwrapping, but don't think DP would be too keen on that.

DustyBaubles · 15/12/2013 13:13

Ours are already there.

Our children are aged 2 to 10 , and they haven't gone near them at all.

Perhaps my diabolical wrapping style has deterred them.

hallowisitmeyourelookingfor · 15/12/2013 13:22

We are putting our tree up today and I will put their things that I have wrapped under there this evening. I'm not bothered if they poke and prod, it's part of the anticipation and excitement really.
I will continue to put presents for them under there until Xmas day, with the last few going under at bedtime on Xmas eve because they won't be delivered and wrapped until then!
FC doesn't bring big presents here, just stockings.

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 15/12/2013 20:00

voldemort

Everybody will put their presents under the tree Christmas Eve morning to give us time to enjoy the present stash.

This is what I was thinking too, I like looking at presents under the tree!

I remember poking and looking too, but it was part of the fun....

Bakerof3pudsxx · 15/12/2013 20:03

Fc bring everything, it's just we buy some and send them to him - because he isn't busy enough!

applecrumbleandcream · 15/12/2013 20:03

All presents in our house are from Father Christmas (we take no credit)

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 15/12/2013 20:04

FC would really bring 90% of stuff here too, but my DD was given some branded stuff for her bday and will be getting the same for xmas ( along with other things) I knew she would not believe that FC had given the same sort of things again...so have had to split.

OP posts:
brainwashed · 15/12/2013 20:15

Ours don't appear under the tree until after the kids are in bed on Xmas eve. My children are teenagers but that's how we've always done it! For the first time ever there are 2 presents already under the tree....gifts for me from kids I teach swimming to! I am resisting temptation so far....

SatinSandals · 15/12/2013 20:16

When they are wrapped - they have always put theirs to us from very young,as they got them, so it would be odd not to.

olibeansmummy · 15/12/2013 20:19

Ds's (4) presents from us are under the tree now, as are the presents that he's bought for us ( with our help obv), the presents me and dh have bought each other and presents for our nieces and nephew. Ds does ask about them but the anticipation is all part of the fun!

lilyaldrin · 15/12/2013 20:19

All presents are under the tree already, including ones from us to DS (3). FC leaves a present/stocking on the end of his bed on Christmas Eve.

knittedslippersx3 · 15/12/2013 20:20

My dd(17) still insists that all presents go under the tree after she has gone to bed on Christmas Eve. She doesn't like to see what she's got. Was fine when she went to bed at 9:00 but now I go to bed and have to get up again when she's gone to bed to do the presents!

MoreThanChristmasCrackers · 15/12/2013 20:23

All presents for dd come from FC or relatives.
All presents, mainly money for grown up dc and relies goes under the tree on xmas eve, when everybody has gone to bed.

BECAUSE Father Christmas brings them all, silly Xmas Grin

Bonkerz · 15/12/2013 20:24

Presents from others go under tree when they arrive. All others go under tree Christmas Eve but they only have names of who they are for on them.
